Guest guest
my diet is not at all plant-based. it is animal-based and I feel so much better than when I was a vegan. Many vegetables should be cooked. see p. 366 of NT. Was this documentary made by vegetarians? > > Hi everyone!! I usually do not post, I mostly just read what you all discuss but I am in need of some clarity. Last night I saw the documentary, Food Matters, hosted by my chiropractor. It pretty much talked about what most of us know, the overuse of medicines, the poor quality of our soil, how toxic we all are, pharmaceutical greed etc.... > The overall lessons were to eat at least 80% raw veggies and fruits and other " super foods " , yoga and meditation, and detox through the bowels. > They were saying that its much easier to digest raw plant based food then a steak. I kept waiting for the mention of raw milk, raw fermented foods and drinks, grass fed beef etc.... but nothing!! On a good note, there was no mention of soy be a health food. Anyway, I am wondering if because we are so toxic in this day and age that a plant based diet(or at least mosstly)is best because of the detoxing nature of these foods. (I have read that veggies especially veggie juice, is very detoxing to our bodies from Dr. Natasha Campell-McBride--author of GAPS)I am looking forward to your replies. > Thank you, > Debbie > foodmatters.tv > food matters superfoods > *green superfoods:wheat grass, barley grass, wild blue green algae, spirulina, chlorella, green leafy veggies > *bee superfoods: royal jelly, bee pollen, propolis > *herb superfoods: nettle, aloe, echinecea, ginseng > *fruit and nut superfoods: goji, raw cacao, maca, acai, coconuts/oil,noni > *seaweed superfoods: nori, kelp, dulse, wakame, kombu >
Guest guest
Hi Carolyn, thanks for responding to my post. I am not sure if the documentary was made by vegetarians. There was no meat bashing at all. It mostly was saying how important it is to add raw plant foods to our diets(at least every meal 50% raw---80% would be ideal according to these guys) They were also talking about how mega doses of vitamin c has been and is today being used to cure cancer. They were saying how the Japanese women and men are super healthy(eating lots of veggies, sea veggies and seafood) There was a lot of good info in the film. I am a member of WAPF, my family eats lots of grass fed beef, raw dairy, fermented foods, high fat etc... but at the same time we also include lots of veggies and fruits. So I agreed w/ the film about adding more raw veggies(not all I know should be consumed raw) but I would of liked there to be mention of raw fats and animal based proteins. Guest guest
This kind of reminds me of a conversation I had the other day. The person quoted Wolfe, a raw foodie and his " coconut oil discovery " , as if Wolfe had recently discovered the benefits of eating coconut oil. My response was yes, 95% of the oil I consume is coconut oil and that I buy it by the gallon, two or three times a year. They asked but, do you eat it raw? as if that was a new discovery, too. It seems everyone is finally jumping on the healthy fats bandwagon and claiming credit for discovering it. I guess I'm happy that folks are finally wising up, but Enig and Sally Fallon have been touting coconut oil for YEARS! I do think some raw food is healthy, raw grass-fed beef and raw fruit and veggies. But, I'm not sure I buy that 80% of my diet should be vegetables and most of them should be raw.
