Guest guest
I'm glad to see a book out there, by a leading author, that will show folks what it is like to try to navigate the system of care, care for your child, and keep your family together. It will hopefully bring into the mainstream an idea of what many of our families are experiencing. is one of my favorite authors, when there is that chance to catch a novel......mostly waiting while at drs. offices or during therapy sessions for our son. But I am glad that he has taken this on and is questioning the way the medical profession addresses such issues. Carolyn Against Medical Advice by , Hal Friedman, and Cory Friedman Synopsis Cory Friedman woke up one morning when he was five years old with the uncontrollable urge to shake his head and his life was never the same again. From that day forward his life became a hell of uncontrollable tics, urges, and involuntary utterances. Eventually he is diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome and Obsessive Compulsive disorder, and Cory embarks on an excruciating journey from specialist to specialist, enduring countless combinations of medications in wildly varying doses. Soon it becomes unclear what tics are symptoms of his disease and what are side effects of the drugs. The only certainty is that it kept getting worse. Despite his lack of control, Cory is aware of every embarrassing movement, and sensitive to every person's reaction to his often aggravating presence. Simply put: Cory Friedman's life is a living hell. Subjected to debilitating treatments and continuous ridicule, Cory became devastatingly aware of how he appeared to others. With the love of his family and the support of a few steadfast teachers and medical professionals, he fought for his very life, and you will cheer his amazing successes. Guest guest
This post was not put out there to in anyway negate what " Evidence of Harm " has done to bring awareness to this issue. Heck I think I've given over fifty copies of 's book to folks and promoted it greatly. However this brings a different aspect to this and hopefully to readers of who are in the mainstream. Sounds like this kid actually himself could have been vaccine damaged. Will have to read the book to see.
