Guest guest
No - distilled water is very different from Spring Water... rheumatic Distilled Water Okay I was just reading the nutritional considerations for when on AP Adjuncts by Dr. Mercola (Dr. Browns protocol) It says... " Avoid distilled water as it has the wrong ionization, PH, polarization and oxidation. It will also drain your body of minerals...... " quote unquote So I wouls assume we are to drink Spring Water ????? Debi To unsubscribe, email: rheumatic-unsubscribeegroups
Guest guest
Quite some tiem ago, when I first joined this group, I wrote an article about what I thought of Dr. Mercola's diet. In short, not much. Since then, I have questioned myself as to whether I was right to be so dismissive of it, but I have to say I don't recall seeing this bit about distilled water. Chemically, distilled water is water with all the impurities removed (no chlorine, no salts or minerals, no pesticides, no bacteria). It is pure H2O (2 hydrogen atoms and 1 oxygen atom). Pure water is neutral in pH. Since it contains no dissolved salts, it will not affect the pH of the body, and there is no ionisation. H2O is a polarised molecule; The O tends to have a negative charge, and the H a positive one. This allows " Hydrogen bonding " between the water molecules, which is what gives water the liquid properties it has (and without which life as we knew it could not exist). If water has the wrong polarisation, then we're dead. As for oxidation, well let's say he thinks water shouldn't be oxidised. We are left with H2 (hydrogen) which is a gas. You can't drink that. Alternatively maybe he means it is not sufficiently oxidised, in which case you get H2O2, which is hydrogen peroxide. I just looked up the safety sheet on H2O2... " Corrosive to eyes, skin, nose, throat and lungs. May cause irreversible tissue damage to the eyes including blindness. " So (if your quote is right) this guy is either bananas or a liar with an ulterior motive. I'm open to correction on any chemical inaccuracies - always hedging my bets :-) I should add - who'd want to drink distilled water anyway, though, when mineral or spring water is probably cheaper. But there are potential contaminants even in mineral and spring water (I know - my sister used to work in a laboratory that tested commercial bottled water and she was frightened!), so distilled water is the safest if you're really concerned. Unless chlorine is a problem, tap water should be fine. Guest guest
>Has anyone measured the PH of distelled water and if >so what does it run? It tends to measure acidic in my experience, but this is a pointless exercise since distilled water is devoid of minerals and it takes very little difference in H+ concentration to change the pH a great deal. It would be interesting to see if a magnet would change this, though... turf
Guest guest
> > Hello all. A friend heard on the radio how distilled water removes > metals from the body. I don't believe this. Distilled water contains no minerals, so if you use it, be sure to supplement with minerals. Dana
Guest guest
recently commented on distilled water being no good, however, I do not remember seeing the reasons why. If is around, or someone remembers why he might have said that, it might be helpful to others and me to know why. Joe C.
Guest guest
It has been my understanding that distilled water has a 'drawing' or 'pulling' affect on the cells thus helping in the removal of toxins. Guest guest
I've been told that distilled water washes out minerals from your body, so in that case, you'd have to supplement with some kind of mineral product. No, the speculation that low-mineral and distilled water leaches or draws mineral from the cells is invalid. Mineral and water transport in and out of the cells is tightly controlled. It has to be, otherwise the mineral flux would disrupt electrolyte levels and there would be reduced cell membrane potential and reliably, cancer (Otto Warburg) just from drinking very soft water. Bear in mind that surface water in a lot of regions is very nearly completely devoid of mineral, and this was what we historically drank. The hard water and low cancer argument is a satistic that is valid; this is mainly because the hard water contains minerals that elevate pH, and an elevated pH allows better oxygen transport which tends to keep cells working normally (Warburg). Guest guest
I know I feel a lot better when supplementing with minerals. If is a conveintent coincidence to be taling about distilled water. With the summer time, the tap is even worse than usual. The last batch of distilled wather I got tasted bad, there were particles floating in it. My husband is a plumber and says he is going to put a reverse osmosis in...hard to do inbetween the budweiser though. He does work way too much. It is hard though with what seems like apathy at best, I feel like he would just soon I be out of the picture. I am a good wife. In his drunken perspective never cease to be amazed at what he blames me with. I suppose the real tragedy here would be my buying into it and not finding emotional support elsewhere. > > recently commented on distilled water being no good, however, > > I do not remember seeing the reasons why. > > No, the speculation that low-mineral and distilled water leaches or > draws mineral from the cells is invalid. Guest guest
In regard to distilled water, some of it does not meet the standard of being distilled. There's no way to tell without a pure water tester. I was getting Walmart distilled water that was the purest until I got a batch that was way out of whack. God only knows what was in that batch. I guess it's like anything else we buy anymore. There is no real quality control. I have to ask WM where it's distilled. If it's China, it might come from the Yellow River. Yeck! Guest guest
If u r fighting cancer then dont do distilled water b/c u want 2 promote an alkaline ph n your body. cancer doesnt like an alkaline ph. crystal gyser is really good bottled water, just dont let any plastic sit in the heat b/c it can leach pseudo estrogens from plastic. To carry h2o in car I found a thermos brand stainless steel bottle with pop up lid for easy drinking and an added bonus it keeps cold water cool n the summer severalhours. A good cancer site is www.cancertutor.com   my mom has estrogen positive breast cancer and i just got the test results back and we have driven n2 remission naturally for the 3rd time. We used magnesium 'oil' (magnesium flakes dissolved in good water) directly on lesions and entire front torso and down sides, trying 2 include lymph glands. I got it from Dr. Mercola's website or Swansons. Goodluck. It takes alot of sacrificing food wise and alot of determination to wage natural war.
