If is also unfortunate that the moderators must read every post to maintain that the richness of CMT material is preserved. And you know the phonies will eliminate themselves. Certainly parents with children who have CMT form a strong bond, whereas those without children with CMT are coming from a place of advice and not experience. Guest guest
Hi and Gretchen! I didn't make it to my desk today so I didn't retrieve that file, I promise it will be forthcoming on Monday. (I will get to work at my desk.) We contacted Canine Companions for Independence 2 years ago, but was considered too young at that time. Their program is outstanding and would definitely be worth considering. I recently ran into a woman from another organization and what her dog could do blew my mind. They knew what CMT was which also blew my mind...I didn't have to describe it for the first time ever! I loved this post Gretchen. I had no ideas monkies were being trained as well. Hope things are going well with both of you. > > , > > Not exactly " assistive technology " , but other ways to help disabled kids in schools and quality of life. > > > http://www.cci.org/site/c.cdKGIRNqEmG/b.3978475/k.BED8/Home.htm > > > The most advanced technology capable of transforming the lives of people with disabilities has a cold nose and a warm heart. > > Canine Companions for Independence® provides highly-trained assistance dogs for children and adults with disabilities, free of charge. > > There is also MONKEYS ASSISTING PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES this is a resource http://pin.primate.wisc.edu/infoserv/askprim/helpcit.html > > http://pin.primate.wisc.edu/edu/ > > http://www.petplace.com/small-mammals/monkeys-that-help-quadriplegics/page1.aspx > > http://www.monkeyhelpers.org/ > > > You have been here since Day 1, about 11 years ago and have been a vital resource for so many people and have shared so much with us.
