Guest guest
Hi there , Methuselah didn't die in the flood even though he died in the same year that the vlood started, namely 2370 BCE - this can be deduced from the fact that Genesis 5 verse 27 states that he died, and there is no mention of the end of other persons who died in the flood, so one must conclude that his death occurred naturally before the flood because it is stated as though it is an individual fact and not part of a collective destruction. I didn't mention that I loved prohesy as well, did I.... got that from my Mom. But what I love most is how the Bible is structured - like a project. Can you tell that I'm a project manager? Starting with how it was supposed to be (peace in paradise), then the rebellious choice for independance followed by the begin of the "plan" in Genesis 3:15. The woman spoken of there is not Eve, but features again in Revelation 12 . And then, one can follow the 'critical path' of this plan through Adam and Eve's 3rd son Seth, his son Enos, to Noah (via Methuselah, Noah's grandpa.) the promises made to Abraham, Isaac, , Juda and .....all the way to 1 and Luke 3 where Jozef and then 's lineage are represented (via the fathers). This is why there's so much info on who was the father of whom - all this had to show the path to that seed, the Messiah. I'd love to compare notes with you on the rest of the prophecies sometime. especially the ones that take us into our time and the future are awesome. In my study so far I've seen that the timeline starts with Adam's creation in the autumn/Fall of 4026 BCE and continues through to the last King in the ic line that God approved of, Zedekiah, losing Jerusalem to Babylon in 607 BCE. This is where the father to father chronological path and the time period-prophecies e.g. the 70 years prophecy, the 69 weeks prophecy, etc, overlap to take the student now via the path of the world powers that excercised dominance over the promised land to 29 CE when Jesus appeared, right on schedule for baptism. These world power prophecies extend right into our current time with uncanny accuracy, but I enjoyed tracking the history, especially very interesting rises and falls of the Egyptian royal house after the great died (prophesied by in advance, and it happened just so, but the Bold and the Beautifal Soap has nothing on their goings on!) ... Let me stop now, or I'll prattle on and on ;-) Inge plays the recorder, the guitar and is learning the piano at the moment but our lives are very busy and she has had to travel a lot so she doesn't get much time to practice.'We do sing together often - Inge has a lovely voice. We both find music to be very soothing too. Thanks for replying, Rochelle ....................................................................... Rochelle, I have a friend who insists that Methuselah died in the Flood. I feel he passed just before it happened- or at least, I want it to be that way. Who is right? I am with your mother: I love Bible Chronology, but prophesy really has my interest piqued. Much of the chronology relates to prophesy, so you and your mother must be able to share a lot with each other! My youngest son (NS) loves Robotics, and my daughter (also NS) can draw thhings that feel lifelike when you see them. My youngest son and my daughter both like music: my son plays the piano quite well, and is debating gooing into that field. He writes music as well. My mother (AS, I think!) was a piano teacher, and developed a new method of teaching it, which she got published for pay. She did not know if she should cash the check or frame it, since it was her first. It there was one thing that could consistently bring her out of the depression she had, it was playing music- and I could susally play clarinet around her, and convince her to play with me pretty easily. of course, it went both ways: if she played just the right things, and called me over, I would play in, too. Does Inge play an instrument? Does anyone else in the family jam with her?
