Guest guest
My son just started school and I have been stressed about the early mornings. His preschool was next door, and started at 9 a.m., while the school is a 15 min drive away and starts 8.30. It is not a very big difference, but my natural sleep rythm is that I wake up without an alarm clock between 7 and 8. So with preschool this was fine, we could still make it there even when I woke at 8. But now, I must wake up at 7. So I set the alarm clock the first two weeks, but really no need for that, because I wake up by myself between 5 and 6 instead. Probably because I am stressed. My partner is responsible for every second morning, but it doesn't matter I wake up too early anyway. I go to sleep earlier too, but I can't go to bed before 10 p.m. So I don't get enough sleep. Feel it in my muscles (weaker) + am tired most of the day. Now, after 2 weeks, i realized something must be done. I tried Valerian root, a herbal drug for sleeplessness + anxiety. Took just one pill two night ago, and could sleep a lot better, til 6.30, was rested. Tried it again tonight, same thing. + my CMT feels a bit better too. (Because I am rested or because of some effect of the drug? Don't know...) I feel bit steadier. The normal dose is 2-4 pills a night, but I didn't dare to try more than 1 pill. But it seems safe. Does anybody else use Valerian root? Noticed any side effects? What dose doyou take? How does it effect CMT? Beata
Guest guest
Valarian root was once the root for Valium. I used to take it and it worked well. The only side effect that I found was the seriously NASTY taste it left when I burped, a bit like what I suppose would be chewed hay. defman From: Beata Boo <beataboo@...> Subject: Valerian root for sleep? Guest guest
I don't think Valerian root (herbal drug) and Valium (diazepam, a benzodiazepine) are related! Were did you hear that? But I never burp! (Ok, I do, but very seldom, and not from valerian root.)
