Guest guest
Metal roofs are okay as long as they aren't flat, because they ventilate them. Decorative metal roofs are much more expensive than shingle roofs, supposed to be more energy efficient because they have reflective coatins, and supposedly last alot longer. They can be installed over an old shingle roof but I don't know who would want to do that!, but they advertise that as a cost savings..since they then don't have to remove the old shingles but sounds like a very very bad idea to me from an indoor air quality standpoint. I looked into them for energy efficiency but they were just too too expensive. Not talking about flat metal roofing though. Not sure what type of metal are used for those. I have one out back of house and it has some sort of aspalt coating on it, not energy efficient, almost flat, slight pitch to it. I wonder what the indoor air people think of them. I have not heard any comments from them though...? > > metal roof might be more of a problem with condensation,? > I wouldn't think shingled roofs would cause a problem with MCSers > inless your up there close to them. > good luck. be problem with countertops might be more due to glues used > and offgassing of them if new. >
