Guest guest
Hello, My name is Francesca and I have been diagnosed with what they " think " is CMT. I am 54 now and I was 22 when right after my daughter was born by c-section, i could not stand on my toes or wear high heels at all. i have never met another person ever who has this and I am wondering if there is anyone else out there that has the similar symptoms that I have that my neurologist says are not completely typical for CMT. I have always walked on my own, driven a stick shift car, do low impact aerobics at the gym and have a very strong upper body. I do have some drop foot and some wasting in my distal muscles. i work out on a bike/skier and have consequently built strong thigh muscles with my skinny calves. please let me know if you present like i do because i would be curious in knowing what your doctor says about it. i studied ballet as a child and was in sports in college and wore high heels to my wedding a year before this happened. i have had spinal taps, blood tests, emgs galore, biopsies....thank you.
