Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the group. This is an amazing group of parents that have a wealth of information available to share with you at a moments notice. They have been my saving grace and that extra push I needed sometimes since we received the dual diagnosis for our son this past November. is 6 and will be in his sophmore year of kindergarten this fall ( that's my fancy way of saying he's repeating it!) Without the ladies on this list, I think I'd still be turning circles wondering where to start. I have so much more I want to do to make things easier for but I've learned to prioritize and take baby steps or I'll make myself crazy (or crazier than I am already). Anyways welcome to the group - Take care, Jayne (living in Virginia) married to (USAF) Mom to (syrinx on T8-T10 vertabrae - we head to the neurosurgeon monday for some answers hopefully- 13 and becoming a full blown teenager...), Emma ( severe peanut allergy, 8 and adorable), and ( Ds/PDD-NOS and king of the vcr/dvd player) Avena wrote: Hi, My name is Avena and my husband's name is . Isaiah is almost 9 and along with the DS, he's just beem diagnosed with mild autism. I " ve kind of suspected something else was going on with him for a while, but everything I was seeing was " blamed " on DS. This past year I worked in the self contained class at our school and began to see that the things that were different about Isaiah were commom in the kids with autism. When Isaiah's respite provider mentioned to me that she puts him in the group with the other kids with autism, I knew I wasn't they only one seeing the difference. After 6 months of waiting to see the developmental pediatrician, we finally got some answers. Only to be left with more questions. I asked some question on the DS list, but got no response except for one from (Maddie's mom) pointing me in this direction. Thank you! I'm very happy to be a part of this group, and hope to learn and also contribute whenever possible. Avena --------------------------------- Discover Yahoo! Guest guest
Hello, My name is and I am new to this group. I am concerned about the effects of toxins in the enviromnent, and I am personally concerned about Autism and other diseases, three of which I have endured myself. I have been touched by families of Austistic children and adults and have faced Epilepsy, Cancer & Alcoholism personally and recovered thankfully from all three. All of my experience and research tells me that most of our contemporary diseases have links and probably causes from the stuff in our environment. To see a quality short film (10 min) on the subject and to read my story, go to http://www.angelvalleyco.com/environment.htm. I am learning more all the time and I would really like some feedback on this film. Thanks for your help.
