Guest guest
Luckily, Obama will win; but wake up. A win for McCain would mean a win for Lieberman which would mean all out war in the Middle East Re: OT: VP Debate You know, this is getting pretty frickin' (to use a word) disgusting! All the partisan crap and Palin bashing! What about the more than 10 facts Biden misrepresented? How about Obama not supporting vaccine choice? There are other opinions on this list and we are trying to keep it resectful. DBB!! Lin > >> > > > In a message dated 10/2/2008 8:30:30 P.M. Guest guest
Because many of us are sick of the partisan back and forths here would anyone be interested in joining me in the " Either way we are doomed Party " ? I suppose that we will need to come up with a shorter name for this political party. I will take all suggestions. > > > > > > > > > In a message dated 10/2/2008 8:30:30 P.M. Guest guest
I'm sticking with doomed... Overall... not just on this issue. Unless things change quickly. Hopefully not. > >>>> > > > > >>>> > > > > >>>> > > > In a message dated 10/2/2008 8:30:30 P.M. Guest guest
Will; Honestly, I don't think it matters what I think he will do. What matters are their track records. So far, McCain has been adamantly against corporate Big Pharma, has requested Senate hearings on our children's behalf, has been responsive to our concerns and remains so to this day, he went toe to toe with Frist against the Lily Rider (one of the only Republicans who did). He desires to fully fund IDEA. He has spoken out on our behalf. There is probably more. I don't have the answers to your specific questions, but like I said, it doesn't matter what I think. What matters is what is tangilble. I think you pose great questions. I will do everyting I can to get answers for you. Not from me but McCain or his camp. I would very much like to get definitive answers to those same questions. The reason I am so adamant is not because of my personal opinion but becasue of what I have seen, experienced, and heard first hand. The same is true of Obama. I speak only of what his record has shown so far. He will not go up against pharma. I also know that he remains unresponsive to us, thirty days out, after more than a year and a half of requests, teleconferences with his staff, email correspondences, letters, phone calls, you name it. He has the science. He knows the issues. If you want to know what my expereinces have led me to believe, I believe McCain is an honorable man of intergrity and character who desires to serve his country and the people, not special interests. I believe he sees this as his last opportunity to truly make a difference by making government work for the people again. I beleive he desires to make a differnce for the good of the country and all her people. That's what I believe. I would also like to say that I was absolutely non-partisan going into this a year and a half ago. I gave equal opportunity to both sides. Lin > > >> > > Luckily, Obama will win; but wake up. Guest guest
This conversation goes nowhere. Unless Ron is in the running again. Neither Obama nor McCain are likely to fill the void that addresses our needs any time in the near future. I wish there was commitment from either party but there is none to be had at this point. Vaccines will still be recommended. More babies will succumb. This circle will go on and on for now. But I think he truth will come out before too long. Kinda like how once it was said that tobacco was good for you... once upon a time. I would bet there were a lot of dummies like us back then too. People raising hell and being ignored. We may not make it in this election but i think we are used to waiting. In this family we are united. Lin, I'd say you are a firm Republican. I have been a Democrat since I was a small child (both parents were and are Republicans). Both are okay and this is democracy tho for me, i've been looking for a new country to colonize these last 8 years. Still, I am on your side and you are on mine on this issue (and perhaps many others). I think there is no need to defend one against the other. Neither are the answer. Obama isn't going to fix our medical miasma because he's president anymore than Palin will fix it because she's mom to a Down baby boy. We're still on our own for now. For now I just console myself that Mc Cain and Obama are both people that I hope we can reach. I believe they are both good men. Actually, in the 2000 primaries I was stunned that McCain didn't win. I almost crossed party lines back then. We all just want help for our kids. I will take whomever gives that to me. No matter how selfish that may be. All I want is my newborn perfect and unvacinnated baby (2babies) again. None of us can have it. But we can be the thorn in the side of anyone who still doesn't know better. At this point, I'm chuffing off Obama or McCain. I'm looking to fellow mothers and fathers living this life that I do, I don't seem to have much room for politics. > > > > > > > > > > > > In a message dated 10/2/2008 8:30:30 P.M. Guest guest
Well said ! All I have to say is what has McCain done for our kids? What has Obama done? These guys are POLITICIANS who say what they have to to get elected. I still love Ron and still have his bumper sticker for prez on my car. But due to the current economy I really feel that McCain is LOST and instead of telling us what he'll do he would rather follow the old republican rule of bashing his opponent and hope that we are dumb enough to listen. I just read about his role in the Keating scandal of the late '80's (I was in high school then and didn't know the details of the S & L disaster). Want to talk about track records---this one kinda sucks! So given the choice between these 2 guys you betcha I', votin' for OBAMA!!! (Had to throw in my new folksy way of talkin') Tina > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > In a message dated 10/2/2008 8:30:30 P.M.
