Guest guest
Interesting - in Barbara's book she described her sister with a diability - she said it would probably be called autism today. Her sister, now deceased, I can't remember if older or younger - though not by much. I'm guessing based on this she probabuy doesn't buy into the vaccine theory since her sister likely would't have been one of those. Her sister I don't believe ever lived independetnly - I know she died of cancer - I believe ovarian that no one knew she had until too late. Guest guest
I think was wise to make the interpretation she did with Walters-- what else could she do? Let Walters deny that she acted like a harpy to a mother who almost lost her child because of her own feelings about her sister. Let her. Because all that's left is that she's a corporate thug. Personally I think Walter's behavior was nutty and, frankly, much more a product of corporate inculcation than it was defense of a sibling. Clearly, to anyone with a conscience, -- with a living, breathing, very young injured child-- deserved way more courtesy and sensitivity in this situation. Walters could also just be supporting the " increased recognition " concept by retroactively diagnosing her sister with autism. They called autism " infantile schizophrenia " once and there were numbers of practitioners who knew the difference between it and mental retardation. That line could also be retrospectively blurred by the heavy sedatives of the time (not much diff from today actually) which can cause robotic, perseverative or increased disruptive behavior and self injury. Many who were guilty about what they allowed to be done to a family member might grasp onto this new fangled " autism " dx because it explains away what might well have been treatment side effects. > > > > > > http://omg.yahoo.com/videos/barbara-walters-jenny-mccarthy-feud- > resolved/544 > > 6 > > > > There was a detectable bit of tension between Barbara Walters and > > > McCarthy over the subject of autism on " The View " last year, but > that was > > nothing compared to the argument that happened backstage. Guest guest
Just wondering... Why wouldn't her sister have been a vaccine injury candidate? Vaccines began in the US in the 1930's? So did the beginning of use of Hg in pesticides, etc. Is Barbara W. 80-something? I thought she was 70-something.
