Guest guest
Diane and Maureen, Here are some of the plans from Obama sent to me from a member of his campaign staff, including his answers to the A-CHAMP questionnaire…- PS. The community services act is something to look at as he plans on funds for staying in the community with support. I think this will be very important once our kids start aging out of school. I'm sure Lin can give us more specifics on McCain's proposals as well. Guest guest
hi.. on obama's website... he gives a clear plan about autism... for adults and kids... for jobs.. training.. health.. community living.. ect... very clear.. but will it be implemented? and how? I hear he is talker and not a doer... just repeating from what I have heard.. on McCain's website.. I see nothing like what Obama has spelled out.. unless I overlooked it... but he does have a blurb about the autism epidemic... but no written out plan... I am more confused... Guest guest
I don't know if I should laugh or cry at this video. I am sure someone can make the same type of video of Obama's mis-steps---just proves to me that a politician is as slimy as a used car salesman! Sorry to insult the used car salesmen on the list but it is true that they BOTH will say and do anything to get elected. I am still sticking with OBAMA because at least his VP is qualified to take over if need be. President Palin and the first DUDE scare me to death! Guest guest
Yeah why would you vote for someone whos gonna help special needs kids?Someone who knowns and is going to learn a lot more of what its like to parent a special needs child. Go ahead, vote for Barack. But i'm voting for the people I trust. I cannot trust someone who was a muslim and denounced the religion, was the member of an anti-american church for 20 yrs and denouced that and has sat on boards with american terrorists. My vote goes to the american hero who has one agenda: To keep me safe from people like Barack Obama! > > > > > > > > > > > ok, so I want research and a cure for Autism, espcially for those > > > already affected and those children and families who in the > future > > > will not have to bear our burdens. > > > > > > HOWEVER, for those of us who already have children damaged beyond > > > the point where a 100% recovery is possible; has either candidate > > > spoke of asssistance with adult living, housing, medical needs > etc > > > for those affected by Autism specifically?? > > > > > > This is a question for this knowledgable group. Guest guest
Did anyone actually read the attachments I sent?? Just wondering cause this is taking on a different route. If you go back to my earlier message you will read autism and disability information from Obama's campaign and read stuff Lin has posted from McCain's campaign. Let's lay off the tangents that throw such huge wedges between us on this list at the moment. Just my opinion but people asked for the info and it doesn't seem like even though some asked no one is actually reading it. If you can't gain access to it and want to read it let me know and I will send it to you personally. - PS. I implore you to stop using untrue Obama religious rumors and other unsubstantiated Palin personal insults and please stick to the issues our community needs to know about. The rest is insulting to our intelligence. Guest guest
She’s not going to learn much of anything about parenting that child. He will probably be in the care of some nanny while she globe-trots. She clearly has not been very present in the life of her two eldest, one was a violent addict who has been kicked out of school, and the other is pregnant at 17. If those are the family values you support, then you definitely have your candidate. For fun, you can attend her church, where they speak in tongues and get blessed by witch doctors…While you’re there, ask the natives why their special needs kids have to be shipped out of state for an appropriate education. Guest guest
I agree with that there's a way to discuss the issues without being divisive within our community. Those of us in the vaccine injury camp haven't won this thing yet and divided we fall. There's going to be some huge hurdles for effected families no matter who gets in and we'll still need a cohesive movement. Any post with exclamation points in it while discussing politics is probably inappropriate and probably part of the " divisive tangent " , even if it's in retort to a post loaded with exclamation points. Aside from protecting group cohesiveness, I think it's probably best for each individual to protect their *own* sanity by keeping a cool head and not misreporting. Afterall, we're not voting for America's new God and there are going to be disappointments for us no matter who gets in. Hopefully some perks but it's going to be nerve wracking all the same because the whole country's in the toilet and we may find ourselves having to take a number and wait for changes in the system which benefit our children. Also, while bringing up religion, it wouldn't it be a little less ironic if people didn't, um, *bear false witness* against either candidate? > > Did anyone actually read the attachments I sent?? Guest guest
Liz, I agree with you. This week,Palin has been using all her power to make a big stink about Obama - his so called connections to a " T " . I really think someone needs to pull her aside and pull the plug on such talk. Its apparently making her look bad to really tie a Presd. candidate to such. I guess we won't hear how the Troopergate hearings were decided, since it was due out this week. They must have something to hide or the media would be allowed to hear/report it. Most likley won't hear about her abuse of power in AK until a few days before the election. Really all of this has got to be giving many of us Political fatigue, I will be glad when it's over. So we can then focus on how they can help our children's future. Guest guest
Do you suppose that Palin is bitter with the fact that she has an child that is less than perfect?? Some people raise above when they face challenges, others react in an negative measures. I wonder (not wishing) what would happen if her daughter gives birth to an autistic child brought on by vaccine injury. Would she stand and fight for the cause or would she be bought for silence by the parms. Would she misuse her power as VP to force all of us to have vaccines at our expense, both financial and health just so she can help stimulate the medical economy. I just don't trust none of those politicians, the election needs to be continue so we can hear and learn more truth about the candidates Suppose what will happen if McCain and Palin was elected and one of them is found guilty of a crime. Are we stuck with them for 4yrs??? I need more time to consider which to vote on.... and the choices are the lessor of the two evils. Its for our children sake!! Guest guest
My mother was raised in the Assemblies of God church. I spent most of my summers with her mother, my beloved grandmother, because my dad trucked, spent most of his paycheck on himself frivolously before even returning home to us. My mother therefor had to work FT. Something very few mothers did during that generation. Anyway, because she couldn't afford a sitter, we spent the summers with my grandmother and her two youngest children. (my mother was the oldest of ten) We all attended my grandmother's church together. She was a devote Christian who loved her God and all of God's children more than anyone else I've ever known! She didn't judge, either, but loved all desite our obvious flaws and inadequecies. Yes, some spoke in tongues there. My grandmother never did but accepted others her were moved to do so. Yes, they believed in faith healing, too. Yes, the minister prayed over his members in time of need. Witch doctors are an element and tool of the DEVIL. You can keep your inflamatory, offensive, mindless, biases to yourself, thank you very much! BTW, my grandmother would have allowed you to pass judgment on her and still loved you as one of God's children, never uttering a disrespectful or cruel word! Your so-called-facts are virtually half truths. Lin >> She's not going to learn much of anything about parenting that child. He> will probably be in the care of some nanny while she globe-trots. Guest guest
Lin, I don't hold it against Palin for being pissed off about what this trooper did. But she didn't turn her ire into policy on many occasions. Jim Gottstein, after lobbying Palin and her administration for a long time on the issue without getting any response, is currently suing Palin and the state of Alaska for the huge numbers of children-- who we must imagine are often disabled and autistic-- who've been placed or snatched into instititional care and are being drugged half to death. Gottstein had nothing against Palin, even wrote in his press release that Palin's administration may simply not have informed her, but the fact remains that nothing had been done by her to help the situation. Furthermore, when Palin was a mayor, Palin saw to it that rape victims in her jurisdiction- many of them poor- had to pay for their own $1,400 forensic rape kits in order to prove their testimony. This went against state law and is nearly unprecedented that this would not be paid for by police or the state, but Palin defended the decision, stating that this kept taxes down. Many people can show one set of ethics when it comes to them and theirs and another for others. Maybe having a child with Downs (and possibly autism-- I've never seen such an inanimate baby in my life) might sensitize Palin but seeing her autistic nephew tasered didn't sensitize her to the larger problem of abuse of disabled or disadvantaged children at the hands of who were supposed to protect and care for them, so I don't know what to expect from her. > > >> > > > >> > She's not going to learn much of anything about parenting that > > > child. Guest guest
This was a good question Lin. Mike Wooten though, was married to Molly Palin McCann and the sister with the child with Autism is Bruce. Not to say that his actions weren't deplorable. - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alaska_Public_Safety_Commissioner_dismissal Background In 1999, Palin's sister Molly McCann and Mike Wooten began dating.[19] In 2000, Palin wrote a character reference for Wooten.[20] In 2001, Wooten became an Alaska State Trooper.[21] Also in 2001, McCann and Wooten got married. In January 2005, they were separated.[19] From: EOHarm [mailto:EOHarm ] On Behalf Of Lin Wessels Sent: Saturday, October 11, 2008 12:07 PM To: EOHarm Subject: Re: was-Hannity interview last night-diane/maureen-Obama disability/autism plans Have any of you ever considered that the step-son this trooper admitted to tasering is the thirteen year old with autism??? > >> > > >> > She's not going to learn much of anything about parenting that > > child. Guest guest
RE: The "tone" of this conversation, all I have to say is ...... people do you SEE what the EVIL of autism does to a group of normally like-minded people???????Look at the divisiveness in a community who are anti-vaccine, anti-pharma, anti-environmental toxins, etc. This pisses me off. If Satan is not at work in every aspect of this political division, then I don't know how to convince anyone of this possibility. The ND group is going to be reveling in their hatred of us. And.... guess what? No WIN for us because "US" will no longer exist.Let's think about this some more.Roxp.s. I am going to be praying for every single one of you and I don't care if you believe in my God.
Guest guest
Sorry this brought me around on this. Can you give me more information on this piece. I'd like to look into this more. Thanks, Carolyn > > > Have any of you ever considered that the step-son this trooper admitted > to tasering is the thirteen year old with autism??? > >
Guest guest
Ok, now stop the crap please! You are not only insulting Palin, but every working mother, and father on this site. Let's face it how many of us spend evey second of our lives with our special needs children. Like for example, when we spend tons of time on the computer for example. Would anyone say that, was a problem. Get past the cheap shots and stick with the issues please. That's the one thing I hate about this list, wasted time, and very talented energy, sometimes on people speaking crap before they think first. > > She's not going to learn much of anything about parenting that child. Guest guest
More half truths. http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/did_sarah_palin_make_rape_victims_pay.html Until we cut through the BS we are going to get no where. I'm ashamed at how our community has turned their backs on someone who only wanted to help. I'm embarassed as well. Lin >> Lin, I don't hold it against Palin for being pissed off about what > this trooper did. But she didn't turn her ire into policy on many {PEOPLE--PLEASE TRIM YOUR RESPONSES.-- List Host}
Guest guest
Diane – I don’t know about you, but I only spend time on the computer when my daughter is otherwise engaged in therapy, school, recreating with sibs or friends, spending time with her daddy, or sleeping. Bottom line is I call them like I see them. I’m sorry you do not like it – you are entitled to your opinion. Mine was formed in a week I spend near Wasilla. For the record, I DID think first. To your point, we are all smart people and as such should inquire beyond the headlines; this is why we are members of this list. Often we agree with what others post, sometimes not. I don’t believe it is a waste of time to know how a woman who could end up our president operates. Maybe you have knowledge of some amazing thing she has done with or for her own children or those of Wasilla or even those of Alaska. Please post this, I’d like to know. Thanks, Liz P
