Handling CMT

Lyn, I don't agree completely. It always seemed to me that to see a man in a

wheelchair or with a cane or crutch was more acceptable than to see a woman

like that. Perhaps its because (more) men fight in wars and do construction jobs

that would make an  injury acceptable. Womenare more likely to be expected to

wear heels (something Ive never been able to do) and not look physically

stressed, which CMT does to you if you stay active like many of us do or at

least i do. Yes, women do bear pain better though, (I've had a child of my own).

I am more okay with it than others.  But, it is harder to deal with a disability

when you have to be around a society that doesn't. For example, right now I am

not wearing  my ankle supports at the library where Im typing this because they

dont " look pretty " .  So, I do have to use my cane but I wont use the ankle

supports and I pay for it.
