Guest guest
ny Carson's longtime sidekick Ed McMahon dies at age 86 http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/thedishrag/2009/06/johnny-carsons-longtime-sidek\ ick-ed-mcmahon-dies-at-age-86.html Sad news. Ed McMahon died early this morning at age 86. His publicist, Bragman, confirmed that Ed passed away at Reagan/UCLA Medical Center shortly after midnight. McMahon -- who was battling cancer and was hospitalized for pneumonia in January -- had been suffering health problems -- a broken neck, mold in his mansion -- in recent years. According to Us Weekly, he fought foreclosure on his Beverly Hills home after missing payments on his $4.8-million mortgage. Although he reportedly made about $1 million a year doing the Carson gig, he was plagued by financial problems. " If you spend more money than you make, you know what happens. And it can happen. You know, a couple of divorces thrown in, a few things like that, " McMahon once told Larry King. Our prayers for Ed and his surviving family. Photo: Ed McMahon, left, and ny Carson.
