Disability and Administration

My husband, who is a Financial Planner, mentioned to me that one of the

proposals by the new administration is to limit disability and social security

to those making under $100K. So, because my husband makes over $100K, I would no

longer be able to receive disability, even

though I paid into this for 15+ years and provided someone else an opportunity

to receive disability benefits that they needed.

I'd like to know your thoughts on this. It really bothers me. We all know that

it is very expensive being sick. I use this money each month for my

disability...my doctors, my meds, physical therapy, and help with my children

2x/week. I can't believe that the current administration would want to penalize

someone for making over $100K and clearly contributing to the economy with our

income.

So, technically, we would have to get a legal divorce in order for my benefits

to continue. That's pretty ridiculous!

I realize that there are probably a lot of people out there receiving disability

benefits that don't need them and shouldn't be receiving them, but this makes no

sense....
