No, Axelrod has a much older child with epilepsy.

Strautmanis has the child with autism.

So

is Axelrod the one in Obama's campaign with a child affected by autism?

As reported by a Chicago Tribute reporter who wrote a book on Obama's

campaign, Axelrod's now adult daughter was " brain damaged by epilepsy "

as a child. It could still be vaccine-induced seizures and it may even

be autism but it's unclear.

Parade Magazine (inserted in many Sunday newspapers) ran a cover

page article about Axelrod's involvement in the epilepsy

movement. See

http://www.parade.com/health/2009/02/susan-axelrod-CURE-epilepsy.html

Below is the comment I submitted. There are lots of full-page drug

ads in that magazine so I wonder if they will pull the comment.

" I applaud the Alelrods and wish that one of the 5 anti-seizure

medications my twins have tried would have been as effective as

Keppra was for . The timing of the onset of her seizures

(following the time when she would have received her 6 month shots)

leads me to suspect that she received the DPT immunization with

whole cell pertussis not long before her seizures began . This

vaccine caused seizures in many children and led to the development

of the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act, which shields vaccine

manufacturers from liability. For details, see D, Wadsworth

J, Diamond J, Ross E (1985). " Pertussis vaccine and whooping cough

as risk factors in acute neurological illness and death in young

children " . Dev Biol Stand. 61: 389–94. "
