GINA Update - Analysis and model language now available for Request

for Information

action=detail & newsletter_id=38 & article_id=180

On October 10, 2008, the United States departments of Labor, Health

and Human Services, and Treasury issued a Request for Information

(RFI) seeking input on a range of issues related to the Genetic

Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008. These agencies, along with

the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, are in the process of

writing federal regulations to implement the new law. The current RFI

concerns Title I of the new law, on health insurance.

The Genetics and Public Policy Center, town University Health

Policy Institute, and the National Workrights Institute have

collaborated to provide comprehensive analysis and model comments for

the use of interested stakeholders in responding to the RFI. We

encourage all stakeholders to borrow freely from this document, in

whole or in part, in crafting their own responses. The RFI and

information about how to submit comments may be found here. Responses

are due December 9. http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2008/pdf/E8-

24194.pdf

Any questions may be directed to sbaruch2@.... The Center would

appreciate a copy of comments you submit.
