Guest guest
Seriously...what is WRONG with these doctors? Why do they feel the need to force this issue? I just don't understand it. I really can't see it being for the money...but are they that brainwashed that they can't look at immunizations in a case by case manner instead of the typical herd mentality? I hear story after story about this and it makes my blood boil everytime. Do we have no damn rights anymore? I mean, poor Angie here was basically kicked out of a practice because she wanted to check the issue with her son's father? There is something seriously wrong with this picture. Sorry you had to go through that, Angie. But truth be told, this doesn't sound like a Ped you'd want to stick with anyway. Today my son had his well kid check up for this yr and the doctor told me he needed to get a TDaP now when my son was little he ran EXTREAMLY HIGH FEVERS with this shot he and his little brother both and then my oldest also got Phnemonia from the chicken pox shot The doctors we had at this time did not document this stuff so i was trying to explain this stuff to the doctor today nd she said well i see no documentation of an allergic reaction so he needs to get the shot. I am divorced from his dad but we have shared custody so i told her i needed to call his dad and ask him how he felt about this because we were both uneazy about more shots for the boys She then snaps at me YOU DONT NEED HIS PERMISSION TO DO IT . And I lost it I flat told her no i dont but if anything was to happen to his son HE SHOULD HAVE A SAY IN IT BEFORE HAND and she then said its in his healths best interest so you dont need to ask him and I FIRED BACK UNTILL YOU CAN TELL ME FOR SURE SHOTS DIDNT CAUSE HIS AUTISM THEN YOU CANT HONESTLY TELL ME WHAT IS IN THE BEST INTREST OF HIS HEALTH NOW CAN YOU all she said then was well if you dont you cant bring them here no more you have 30 days to find a new ped I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO UPSET I AM STILL SHAKING I HATE THIS FORCED CRAP Angie P.S last time i was in there one of the other doctors told me my son didnt really have autism because his diagnosis was changed last yr to PDDNOS from Moderate Autism when he was 5 will doctors ever learn Get movies delivered to your mailbox. Guest guest
I'm sorry that you had to go through that, but it is important to know exactly where people stand. That is not someone you would want to count on in an emergency. No compassion, no common sense, not even any manners, it is good that you found out at a routine check up rather than an emergency and good for you for sticking to your guns. It may not seem like it, but the day that you got rid of that doctor is a good day. Lynne Get the Moviefone Toolbar. Showtimes, theaters, movie news more! Guest guest
Yes, they are VERY brainwashed. It seems that the only answer to this would be to take exemptions--if you still want to vaccinate and want selective vaccinations-it seems very difficult with most doctors. Guest guest
I don't know why we even need a pediatrician if we don't want vaccinations. Can you take your child to your family practice Dr.? Why can't it be an exemption for a weakened immune system(a health exemption)? Just move on, knowing you did the right thing. No one will tell me to vaccinate my child ever again. I was kicked out of a dental office because they wouldn't return my co-pay. I was retroed for medi-cal. Now I have to find a new dentist. That's fine! They shouldn't treat my family as third class citizens because we have medi-cal. My son has institutional deeming through the Department of Social Services in California. We had to get an exemption from the Department of Developmental Disabilities, because we make too much money. Clearly our children cannot be forced into vaccinations with the poor health they have in the first place. They can put me in jail, I will die to protect my children... Guest guest
Kerrie, i didn't write the message below, but states really vary in their acceptance of religious exemptions. Some, like SC where I live, don't ask any questions at all, but other staates give parents a really hard time, and in many cases refuse them religious exemptions. Guest guest
I would have said, what the flying F does it matter -- he is on the spectrum. Autism is autism in any form. Just wait. These doctor's offices are going to be empty and they are going to be begging people to come back, OR, maybe medicine will return to what it should be -- what it used to be......... a doctor visit was for broken bones and stitches.RoxSubject: I just got into a blow up with my sons PedTo: EOHarm Date: Wednesday, November 12, 2008, 8:54 PM Today my son had his well kid check up for this yr and the doctor told me he needed to get a TDaP now when my son was little he ran EXTREAMLY HIGH FEVERS with this shot he and his little brother both and then my oldest also got Phnemonia from the chicken pox shot The doctors we had at this time did not document this stuff so i was trying to explain this stuff to the doctor today nd she said well i see no documentation of an allergic reaction so he needs to get the shot. Guest guest
Thanks Maurine I wish this doctor could understand how i feel When Cody was first diagnosed with Autism he was 5 yr old and i had been trying since he was 2 yrs old to get a doctor to tell me what went wrong but the kept telling me he was fine . Then at 5 they told me mater of fact like oh have you ever seen the movie rainman your son is Autistic Moderate to severly they thought and they thought he was also MR at the time since then my son started comming back to us 2 yrs ago they changed his DX to PDDNOS and yesterday he brought home his 5th grade report card that had 2 A s 2 B s and 1 C the C was in writing because he hates it because his motor skills are such that it hurts him to write This is a far cry from what they told me was going to be possible for his life when he got that first diagnosis and I AM SCARED TO LET THEM DO ANYTHING TO SEND HIM BACK TO THAT PLACE IN HIS MIND I wish this doctor understood that fear i love my boy and i dont want to loose him again > > > > From: ratlenhum@ . <ratlenhum@ ..> > > Subject: Re: Re: I just got into a blow up with my sons Ped > > To: EOHarmyahoogroups (DOT) com > > Date: Wednesday, November 12, 2008, 6:59 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > People change religions. Guest guest
The thing is Drs are taught from childhood that vaccines are good, when they get to medical school they are taught that vaccines are the ONLY way to health. It is sad that we live in a world where people think that every little sniffle is deadly and that is OK to inject toxins into the human body. Re: I just got into a blow up with my sons Ped Seriously...what is WRONG with these doctors? Why do they feel the need to force this issue? I just don't understand it. I really can't see it being for the money...but are they that brainwashed that they can't look at immunizations in a case by case manner instead of the typical herd mentality?  I hear story after story about this and it makes my blood boil everytime.  Do we have no damn rights anymore?  I m ean, poor Angie here was basically kicked out of a practice because she wanted to check the issue with her son's father? There is something seriously wrong with this picture.  Sorry you had to go through that, Angie. But truth be told, this doesn't sound like a Ped you'd want to stick with anyway.   In a message dated 11/12/2008 3:56:27 P.M. Guest guest
I avoid well visits altogether. When my youngest was around 2-3 months and I noticed the madness of them handing me an RX every time I walked out the door --I stopped going (I always threw the papers in the garbage by the way... I would love to hear, " Well he probably doesn't need it but here is an antibiotic " GENIUS!!) I just stopped... all they are is a chance for the doctor to push shots on you, to push meds on you and to try to find something wrong --WHEN if there really was something wrong, they wouldn''t catch it in the 2 minutes they spend with you. When I brought him back 1.5 years later b/c he had a hernia, they couldn't find his records... we hadn't been there in so long that they thought we had moved. worked for me! I took him back one more time a little over a year ago when we all had strep throat. When it comes to my oldest, my autistic child, I basically just call and tell them what i need. I get no resistance.BUT I recently found out that one doc WENT OFF on someone I met about questioning shots.AND my friends brother just took their new baby in and handed them a shot schedule --he was delaying and spacing them out, well, AFTER the baby got the shots he as signing all these consent forms and realized that they gave the baby all the shots... when he went off on the nurse he was told " well you didn't know what you were talking about " I would have called the police and had them all arrested for battery. This is why I cut out " well baby visits " The one a$$hole doc being mean to all the moms who DARE to question vaccines, is my cousins father in law... and she is pregnant... I just cross my fingers for them, b/c I know they wont even listen to me about spacing the shots out, and they certainly wont get good advice from the father in law. And as for this reply:The health dept wouldnt let you b/c he had prior shots...that is so wrong. It's probably illegal. Its a big fat lie.And they count on parents taking their word for it... they count on their " bully " factor. It makes me sick.I claimed religious exmp at the time of Gavin's 4 year DTP and MMR boosters. He had all the others.
Guest guest
No, there is no need for an " exemption. " Just google " patient rights. " In fact, some doctors do want you to sign something, but it can be a form admitting that refusing jabs makes you a bad parent. No thanks, CGF > > Yes, they are VERY brainwashed. > It seems that the only answer to this would be to take exemptions--if you still want to vaccinate and want selective vaccinations-it seems very difficult with most doctors. > Maurine

Guest guest
Can you file a complaint with your state medical board? I'd be making sure that she knew how angry I really was and that she can't threaten parents like that. Lara P North Pole, Alaska
Guest guest
Can you tell me where you live in land (Just City and Zip Code is sufficient) and who it was that you spoke to in the Health Department? The person who you spoke to is uninformed. I may be able to help here. Feel free to contact me off-line. We should never accept one of these " CDC " or " Offit " type of canned answers. Contact Dr. Arnold Brenner in Randallstown. He will accept your request and religion. Mike Dow From the Church of He Who Will Listen...and if I can tout our own site...go to www.chesapeakevictories.org for a listing of several land exemptions and links which will help you. > > > > > > From: bridgetteleigh75@ <bridgetteleigh75@> > > > Subject: Re: I just got into a blow up with my sons Ped > > > To: EOHarm > > > Date: Wednesday, November 12, 2008, 4:08 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Seriously... what is WRONG with these doctors? > > > Why do they feel the need to force this issue? > > > I just don't understand it. > > > I really can't see it being for the money...but are they that > > brainwashed that they can't look at immunizations in a case by case > > manner instead of the typical herd mentality? > > >  > > > I hear story after story about this and it makes my blood boil > > everytime. > > >  > > > Do we have no damn rights anymore? > > >  > > > I mean, poor Angie here was basically kicked out of a > > practice because she wanted to check the issue with her son's > > father? There is something seriously wrong with this picture. > > >  > > > Sorry you had to go through that, Angie. > > > But truth be told, this doesn't sound like a Ped you'd want to > > stick with anyway. > > >  > > >  > > > > > > In a message dated 11/12/2008 3:56:27 P.M. Guest guest
, in land all we had to do was sign the bottom of the immunization record form for the school's purposes, indicating a religious exemption. No questions asked (it's against the law for them to inquire, actually). And yes, my son had been regularly vaccinated up until the 18-month round of shots, then we stopped completely and refuse to allow any more, period. They can't use the fact that previous vaccinations have taken place. And who is to say that you haven't converted to a religion that does not condone vaccines, anyway? Not sure where you live in MD but if you are close to AA county I can forward our ped's name to you, she does not force her vax views on us, in fact, she respects our beliefs re: the autism connection. -BJ
Guest guest
BJ I live in Carroll county I knew it was illeagle for them to tell me i couldnt claim religous exemption but i couldnt afford a lawyer at the time Rember this is the same state that last yr thretened to jail parents for contempt if they didnt vaccinate I have been trying to refuse vaccines for my kids since my first son was born because they made us give him a Hep B at birth and when we tried to say know to that they said they would report us for neglect and not let us take him home . They bully parents every chance they get . I Have had 1 good doctor since my kids were born who had the good since to medicaly exempt Cody from the MMR. Then he went to another state so i had to get the office they go to now. Our family councelor who is also the mental health specialist for all of baltimore County schools told me this morning to report the doctor because she had no right to talk to us that way. So i am going to report her . > > , in land all we had to do was sign the bottom of the > immunization record form for the school's purposes, indicating a > religious exemption.
