Guest guest
I just fired our pediatrician of 9 years. I never really liked them (practice is too big) but we went for the well child visit for school papers etc... The last straw was when my daughter was sick with double pneumonia and was admitted to the hospital the doctors really did not want to even see my DD. They would come by for 5 seconds then ask the nurses (who didn't want to see my kid either) how she was doing. Nobody ever listened to her lungs or checked her o2 sat. I am a nurse and I know what they should have been looking for. Instead of taking her F-ing blood pressure every 8 hours how about checking her lung status?!?!?! The pediatrician looked scared when we first got to the ER when my DD's O2 sat was reading in the mid 80's and she was a lovely shade of blue. I was waiting for them to say it was because we didn't give her the dtp booster or something. He really looked confused. Me being an ER nurse for almost 20 years I stepped up and hooked my daughter up to the equipment and pointed out that she wasn't oxygenating HELLO, HELP HER!!!! FIRED!!!!! We now see a wonderful D.O. family practitioner who is better then the pediatrician. I know he is not perfect but at least they don't push vaccines on her. Remember people, they work for YOU!!!! If you are not satisified with your plumber, gardener or babysitter you fire them because they are not providing the proper service you require. Same is true for the medical proffesionals. I hate the idea of people still just going along with what ever the doctor says, listening to their scare tactics and being threatened to do something they don't want to do. BTW, They make mistakes and are misinformed too and need to be held accountable. Believe me, I have seen some DOOSIES in my extensive career as a nurse! Guest guest
I'm sorry this happened to you. I'm sure you didn't need this extra stress in your life. Take a deep breath take or take a walk. Then shop around for a new doc. Guest guest
The reality is that many of the doctors get a bonus from teh insurance companies for having high vaccinations rates - so they could care less about our kids - its still all about the alimighty $$.
