Guest guest
" Does anyone know of a vaccine-friendly doctor in the Philadelphia area? By vaccine-friendly doctor I mean one who doesn't shove them down your throat ... This is not for a family with a child with autism so it doesn't need to be a DAN! doc... Thanks! " This question comes up a lot and if you ask on the Pennsylvania tribal area of the Mothering magazine forum http://mothering.com/discussions/forumdisplay.php?f=82 people will share experiences. I live in the Philly suburbs and settle for a general practice doc who has agreed that whether I vaccinate is none of his business. But he is so flawed in other ways, I don't recommend him. When I was pregnant with my third child 9 years ago, I interviewed pretty much every pediatrician in the Philadelphia area and not a single one would " accept " me as a patient unless I agreed to vaccinate using the AAP schedule. None would even consider a modified schedule. Two abruptly ended the interview and literally walked me to the door. That said, I find it amusing that my unvaccinated SPD son sees several specialists at CHOP (home of Offit) and none have ever batted an eye at my refusal to vaccinate.
