Can you give us the gist of what the person wrote? You have to sign in

to AS'S " social network " to read their comments. No way do I have any

desire to provide AS with my email addy - who knows what evil purpose

they will decide to use it for.

here is the pharmie post

Has anyone seen Kirby's latest blog post about mitochondrial

autism?

Did anyone notice that Kirby hasn't been able to talk to any

mitochondrial experts in months? There is absolutely no new information

from experts in his posts. He blogged a recent paper by the

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-kirby/new-study---mitochondrial...

Kirby is so out of the loop that people aren't even telling him his

mistakes anymore.

When will this guy take responsibility for the harm he causes? When

will he take responsibility for the harm he has already caused?

Wouldn't it be great if real journalists could cover this story well?

Instead, we have people who are so annoyed with the science getting

mangled that they aren't talking. Few people could actually cover this

well, and even if Kirby had access to the sources, he would botch

it. But, there has to be some good medical reporter out there who could

really cover this story.

Who is paying Kirby?

From his blog piece

In the interest of public disclosure, I can categorically state that I

have earned approximately $140,000 from my autism-related activities.

This includes the advance and royalties from my book, " Evidence of

Harm, " all speaking fees, a movie option and various freelance writing

assignments. This income has been spread out over a six-year period

(2003-2008, inclusive), for an average of about $23,300 per year. That

amount covered my rent in New York City, but not much else.

That's not full disclosure. That's a cop out.

Who is paying Kirby? Was he paid to speak in front of

congressional aides? Was he paid to speak in front of the couple of

people (including one sent to protest his presence) in the U.K.

Parliament?

Kirby commented on the radio earlier this year that autism takes

away from his " day job " . I don't know what world he lives in, but

something that pays his rent is his day job. Had someone from AAP or

Offit made such a blatently misleading comment, people would up in

arms.

The fact is, unless Kirby states otherwise, he is a paid

spokesperson for the groups sponsoring the Age of Autism blog.

Does he get paid enough to alter his message? Kirby needs to

clear that up, and quickly. He needs to give conflict of interest

statements in his talks and his very few newspaper articles. We deserve

at least that much.

Here is my reply

LOL! A try to smear david campain just because he found that the dep of

defense own records state autism is an adverse reaction to the dtap.

They further state if any neurological events occur after vaccination

that exemption should be given and every effort to aviod multiple

vaccinations in one day should be avioded! Wow I guess you pharmaho's

must be pissed that someone forgot to hide this info. It kinda goes

against the kids can handle 10,000 vaccines at once theory buy a

ThoJ, the author of these comments and other comments attacking ,

is an anonymous poster. As such, he should be given all the attention

and credibility of a ghost. I suggest we shouldn't get too exercised

when someone drags such internet road kill over here to share with us

all.

And calling this poster a " pharmaho " for smearing is itself a

smear, si?
