Guest guest
Community Rallies Around Family Who Lost Everything To Mold By BEN SOSENKO Updated 12:16 PM EDT, Sun, Oct 11, 2009 http://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/Family-Loses-Everything-To-Mold-63908557.html The Colon family has regained their positive outlook, after two NBC Connecticut viewers help them in their tough time. Yesterday, Rosin Colon was desperate. She was forced from her apartment and lost all her personal belongings after a mold infestation. To make matters worse, Colon says the management company at Farmington Hills apartments said it was her responsibility to replace her belongings. " It ate through the rugs, it ate through the clothing, " Colon said. " Everywhere it go messed up. The beds got wet and moldy, the dresser. I lost everything for my kids. " All four of Colon's children were sleeping on the floor, including the infant. That had several viewers offering to help. Melson of Windsor saw the story on NBC Connecticut Friday night, and offered her dresser, bed, and chair. Coe saw the story as well, and offered baby clothes. She is also organizing donations from her church in New Britain. " Isn't that what it's all about, " Melson said. " Helping someone as we go through this life. " Coe explained that as a mother, she was sympathetic to Colon. " She's a mom. She's got 4 small children and to lose all the things that make you comfortable in raising your children, and your beds, and your bedding, clothes. That's got to make her life really hard. " Messages still have not been returned by the management company. Colon says she now sees mold growing in her new apartment, and other neighbors have also complained about the mold problem Mold Problem in New Britain WATCH Mold Problem in New Britain 3 Comments teecee this poor family.... the scum lord who owns the building should be held responsible..... Simply diffusing a therapeutic-grade essential oil regularly will likely result in an environment very hostile to mold, not to mention the health benefits, long-term protection, and simply making your home smell great. http://www.secretofthieves.com/mold.cfm/79544
