Keep your dollar, I voted yesterday.  The website really sucks, though.  I know there have to be people that think they voted and actually didn't.  You have to click the number next to the title, it'll prompt you to register and then you have to log in after registering and then click the number again.  If you click any of the "vote now" links it just brings up the same page so I'll bet your dollar that people are thinking they are voting and haven't yet figured out that they actually haven't. Yes the Change.org website is horrible in that it leads you to think you voted

and you have to figure out for yourself that you need to join.

Having said that, all the other competing ideas suffer from the same problem, so

the leading healthcare idea only has 500 signatories, so in a sense everyone is

under the same handicap.

Lenny.... this is not just any old online petition

The " Top 10 Ideas for America " will be presented to the Obama Administration on

Inauguration Day. We will then build a national campaign to advance each idea in

Congress, marshaling the resources of Change.org, MySpace, and our dozens of

partner organizations and millions of combined members. etc

For a few hundred votes the message of Bodies in Rebellion suddenly gets a

broader foundation and as you know this message ain't going away and needs

MySpace and others standing behind it and making sure the new administration

listens.

Call me a cock-eyed optimist, but this is just not some vanity petition to make

people think they are doing something when they are not. This is a door and I

want to open it.

I would normally agree with you,

however this is not like other petitions in my opinion. This is part of

the transition team, not a randon petition, a way to get Americans

involved. Not that it's a promise it will work but in this case, since

the administration is asking us, I think it's in our best interest to show

them. Others are also writing letters and submitting them individually as

" a parent of a vaccine injured child " but we need one letter to at

least make it to the next round and be in the top 3. -

I think that people are mostly tired of online petitions as a means of

getting anything done. Look at all the hoops this one makes you jump

through. The NJ people collected 10,000 names for vaccine reform and

they were all but ignored by state politicians.

Someday the technology will be there so that REGISTERED VOTERS can

sign onto online petitions which then get certified by officials, just

like they do now for printed ones. Then these petitions will be taken

seriously. They have something like that now in the UK, but I don't

know how exactly it works.
