Guest guest
Lenny, The way I understand it is that if Dr. Stoller gets enough votes, he gets to talk to the president about our issues. This isn't an online petition. More people are voting now. I think that it was confusion about registering. You have to register to vote. You will see the number change as you vote. Thanks Dr. Stoller, I have forwarded it to other lists and I have seen it forwarded by others too. I hope that you get as many votes as you need to present about toxins, our kids, treatment, and change. LynneMake your life easier with all your friends, email, and favorite sites in one place. Guest guest
I wouldrather have people save up their online energy for contacting theirlocal politicians by phone or fax over pending legislation thatconcretely affects our children and families. Dr. Stoller would be able to MEET with President Obama and talk to him our issues. I imagine that to be much more effective than emails, phone calls, and faxes to our local politicians although I agree that those are important too. The last time I checked he only needed 79 more votes to make it to the second round. I still think that if everyone on this list would vote for Dr. Stoller's Bodies In Rebellion, that he would have the opportunity to present our side to President Obama. Guest guest
I don't understand your last comment and I don't understand why you are taking a stance of indifference or negativity towards real efforts. Everything that I have seen Dr. Stoller do has been in line with good intentions for mankind. I don't know what the total votes is now, but I would like to see what would happen if Bodies in Rebellion did get enough for votes to reach Obama. Guest guest
Hi Lynne, I very much appreciate and admire the selfless work Dr. Stoller does for the community and our children. And I would not take anything away from that. He is a true hero. However, my opposition to online petitions is nothing new. I have repeatedly explained here over the last few years why they are often worse than empty gestures -- often little more than cynical marketing tools to collect email addresses for spamming. I certainly don't think this is Dr. Stoller's intent specifically with his online petition -- I even signed on to it. But I do feel I have an obligation to let people know what online petitions are and their pitfalls. This list and the rest of the internet is besieged with requests for people to join and add to website polls and online petitions. I think people are starting to tire of these devices as there is little concrete to show for all the efforts. Joining website/blog polls and online petitions can be fun -- so don't let me be a scrooge. But don't expect me to encourage people to spin their wheels and surrender some of their privacy towards it. I would rather have people save up their online energy for contacting their local politicians by phone or fax over pending legislation that concretely affects our children and families. Well, maybe if Dr. Stoller told the President that parents, schools and states needed a $25 Billion bailout to pay for all the autism going around, not to mention needed research, he just might get some attention! I just hope Dr. Stoller doesn't fly to see Obama in his private jet. Lenny
Guest guest
Lenny: Please tell me where my private jet is parked so I can sell it on ebay. The point is not to meet with anyone, the point is to to create a policy change in a big way and in multiple agencies...FDA, CDC... NIH. There needs to be new legislation to give the EPA some real power. And affected children and adults need to be supported in their recovery. Expensive...? not as expensive as having a massive number of citizens on full disability. They want to count autistic adults...? Just wait a few short years and they will have their autistic adults and they can take care of them too. Guest guest
I'm not a big poster, but here's my 2 cents. Obama's campaign was internet based. It was new for those of us who supported him. He got more people involved. You got contacts, they encouraged neigborhood home meetings. Kept costs down, weren't as many rented offices. I understand those of different parties may be wary to sign up & vote. I think we would be missing an opportunity as pointed out. Dr. Stoller would get the chance to meet with him & make a presentation. Maybe they'd allow his own team of experts. It could do more than faxes that get thrown out, not that his presentation won't later. But we won't know until it happens. With the 1000's of families out there that saw, beleive, have proof they're kids autism was caused by vaccines we could flood the #'s & make a difference. I understand families that took settlements whenever & cannot speak out. Kathy > > > Dr. Stoller would be able to MEET with President Obama and talk to > him our > > issues. Guest guest
Sorry Lynn had your name wrong. Let's rally & get the #'s up. I wish I could have been at the march to meet some of you. I am sorry that I am not able to explain myself better than I already have. I am trying to convey objective opinion, which can turn out to be negative, true. But it is honestly how I see it. No one has to take my warnings. Sign up, if you think it to be worthwhile. > Everything > that I have seen Dr. Stoller do has been in line with good intentions for > mankind. And I do not doubt this in the least. But you know what they say about some roads paved with good intentions . . . To me Obama is still an unknown factor when it comes to autism and dirty vaccines. I really hope more comes out of this than a political pr stunt. Lenny
Guest guest
> > I don't understand your last comment Was that the crack about Dr. Stoller going in his private jet? That was a joking reference to the Big 3 Detroit guys going to Washington in their private jet to ask for billions in bailout. That's all.
