Guest guest
After thinking more about it, the distilled water I have tasted has been stored in plastic counter for who knows how long on store shelf, usually sold for use in irons and such, so maybe absorbed plastic taste. Anyway, regarding the sun, reminds me that I've always wondered if rain water has minerals in it. Ground water gets it from rock, but rain water, has it evaporated from sea and land and carries minerals with it? I wonder if capturing rain water would be better source than tap and then putting it through a pitcher filter. Anyone ever do that? > > > All valid points. The rain water I have collected several times in the last 20 years in LA has been brown in color. Smog I assume. I would not drink it. Yes, rain water " used " to be pure H2O. Now, that cities have their " own " weather systems from the heat and airborne toxins they emit, the rain is not safe to drink, and might not be for 20-300 miles downhill, or more, up to 800 to 1,500 miles depending on the substance and wind speed. Google for 'dust plumes africa china' for plume science.
