Guest guest
I just got this in a google news alert, for some reason. It is from last January. It is Dr. Sanjay Gupta talking about the California data on CNN. He is basically saying it might be a little too early to tell. This was in January, 2008. That month, California DDS opened up its autism program to children with PDD-NOS and other milder forms of ASD. So we can no longer compare children in the system before Jan 1, 2008 and after. We will never know if the case numbers fell in the younger children in the California system. Here is the link, and a transcript of the quote. This is important because when people say “the rates are still going up,” this is the study they are talking about: http://versprill.com/thimerosal/gupta-this-is-not-the-final-word-on-mercury-free-vaccines Q: They removed mercury from the vaccines in California, and autism rates are still on the rise. Can you explain that for us? A: “I think it’s probably not that easy. I think this is not the final word…a couple of things to keep in mind. All vaccines did not lose the Thimerosal up until 2002-2003, meaning people were still probably getting some of these mercury derivatives even a few years ago. Also the particular study did not look at children under the age of three, and as you know Kiran , and I know sometimes autism symptoms can present earlier than age three, so this is not the final word.”
Guest guest
How interesting that you got last January's alert now. For an exercise, type " thimerosal " into the google search window and hit " I'm feeling lucky " and see what comes up. Google's gone ultra- corp and is controlling information, though yeah, it's probably just a snafu that you got the alert late. The impression that the rates are going up also comes from the Somali crisis. I remember you writing in one article that the rates of children who develop autism AND mental retardation had gone down significantly, even as rates were steady or climbing, so it seems from the numbers we're fed. I wouldn't be surprised if the increased levels of aluminum made what remaining thimerosal there is all the more potent. That and the flu shot might explain why rates didn't drop to zero but how telling that we're at the center of the gale storm of controversy here and have NO IDEA what the rates really are and how they compare to five or ten years ago. Talk about being kept in the dark. > > I just got this in a google news alert, for some reason. It is from last > January.
