Guest guest
This is my biggest beef! A resident surgen who was one of the Doctors working on my daughter's surgery last week told me that he didn't learn ANYTHING about autism when he was in medical school. He just graduated 5 years ago. Also told me he was angry about it and last year called his old professors and asked if autism was on the ciricullum at all. He was told there were only a handful, maybe 5, slides on autism with WAAAYYYY outdated information. This is what students are learning in med school NOW??!! - From: EOHarm [mailto:EOHarm ] On Behalf Of Kirby Sent: Wednesday, December 03, 2008 12:34 PM To: EOHarm Subject: DOD - " Avoid multiple vaccines " after " any reacton that does not involve the injection site " If a patient has “ANY reaction that does not involve the injection site,” military doctors should, “avoid multiple vaccines in one session for this patient,” when giving future doses. Guest guest
> Why aren't pediatricians being told this? Why not indeed?! When my dd had a systemic reaction (scream crying for 6 hours post vax plus loss of eye contact plus loss of communication) I fully expected her pediatrician to say, " well, I guess these vaccines and your dd are NOT a good mix. " I was totally shocked and unprepared to hear that she wanted to continue with the shots full steam ahead. That seemed an insane course of action to me. Only after continued hesitation on my part did she say that maybe, well maybe, we could hold off on further pertussis containing shots. Then some time later as I was still hemming and hawing over what to do, (my mommy instinct said no way is further vaccination good for my kid) it came to light that the injection site problem (big giant red knot for days) was not even the leg where DTaP was administered....that sent me on a path of self-education and the ultimate decision to forego further shots for dd. I stand by that decision and it's nice to see that some basic human SANE-ness is starting to emerge within a group-think, medical dogma circle. Let's hope the insane thinking - that we MUST vaccinate every child with every vaccine on the same schedule - continues to erode. egran
Guest guest
Do you believe they would listen if they were? And something tells me they are being told this. It's just a question.
