OT/Was it a Joke on The Ellen show, Jim C. ask to marry him.?

I don't know if it was just a joke or not. Jim was promoting his new Movie out this week.

Ellen's game jokes she ask Jim to say Yes, to doing everything she

ask's of him. Jim does several jokes with the audience and then Ellen ask's Jim

if he would propose to since she was on the show too.

Jim Carey proceeded to ask McCarthy to marry him but was interrupted

with Ellen's ringing chime "The 12 days of Christmas". Jim got cut off right

at the moment he would have said, "Will you marry me". Jim was on bended knee,

holding 's hand. And then they were rushed off the stage, so

Ellen could announce the free give away gifts.

Was it just a joke for the show or for real?
