Guest guest
: I am 64 years old, and letting go dates back to June 25, 1967 when LBJ (a great president who was very misunderstood)and Aleksei Kosygin who replaced(?) Nikita Khrushchev met at Glassboro State College Glassboro New Jersey. I was back from my first tour in Vietnam and was a participant in a Early Music camp in Long Pond, Massachusetts. The camp was held under the auspices of the Country Dance Society of New York. The CDS was formed to promote English country and dancing. After 5 days of dancing, I had the worse case of shin splints in North America. The only way of treating them was to soak my legs in Long Pond. On that Saturday, I was soaking my legs and started thinking of the well-advertised summit taking place that day. I realized that I was thinking these thoughts in one of the most peaceful places in the world, among people who annually come together to with the common interests of music and dance, while a few miles south, two of the most powerful men in the world were deciding my future and the future of the world. I realized that the only parts of the world I had any control over were dangling in the water trying to overcome painful shin splints. Why should I worry about meetings in Glassboro? I couldn't do anything about them. Letting go began then, and I have let go ever since. I control the few points in my life I can, and don't worry about the rest. All those things I could worry about will happen in their own time and over any angst I profess. The first line of the Serenity Prayer used by most 12-Step organizations is: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Cletus Purcell -- probably the most memorable character ever developed by my favorite male author Jame Lee Burke -- was speaking to Dave Robicheaux, the most alcohol-tormented character in literature. Clete tells Dave he uses the short form of the prayer, and Dave may find it easier to use. Dave asks what is the short form/ Clete answers, " F--k it. " When I read that, I had the V/8 moment and realized that is how I live, and that is how I cope. It is that simple, and I almost have it perfected after just 43 years/ Regards. --Larry
Guest guest
A sense of humor. I laugh about everything. The fact my feet used to be a size 9 before my surgeries, then they went down a size because of the surgeries, and now I need a size 9 shoe due to my orthopedic inserts. I do the stuff I can with my really good friends who accommodate me. I don't worry about the stuff I can't do. I focus on the good rather than what CMT has taken away from me over the years. > > > > I only worry about things I have control over. > > > > CMT isn't one of them. > > > > Just let it go. > > > > Regards. > > >

CMT is not something we EVER had any control over getting! Oh Well! The answer gave me a good laugh! Guest guest
I think " letting go & letting God " is the only way to go. Admitting that you are not God & he is in control, not you, is very freeing. I don't have to make my husband be what he should, or my 4 young adult children. I am 100 percent responsible to God for my actions & attitudes. So I work on growing godly character & setting an example. I am learning to change the things I can - which has been a process of years! I'm constantly reading Christian books to learn what that means & I'm taking responsibility for my health. As I've changed my eating, everything has gotten better. I've lost the 20 lbs I gained at my worst 5 years ago, and then some (10). I can't tell you how awesome it feels to borrow my daughters' cool clothes & : they fit! Even if I cheat, I bounce right back b/c I must be getting healthier!     When you know how much God loves you (he counts the hairs on your head, has as many thoughts about you as there are grains of sand, saves all your tears in a bottle, etc.) you can know that anything that man has done to you that was meant to harm, God can turn it around for your good. I can trust & believe a God like that! He doesn't force anything on us, but yearns for an intimate relationship with us as a husband would & woos us to himself. It also helps to do this in community with like-minded people. I'm in a support & recovery group (lots of co-dependents so we learn from each other) & the next book we're doing is Safe People. You can probably google & : find a group like that. We did Healing is a Choice last time. I've done Boundaries, Changes that Heal, Boundaries with Kids, etc. Groups help tremendously. We weren't meant to life alone! Guest guest
of course it works!if you are positive and think positively, you'll send a certain kind of vibration and whatever you send, you receive back cos thoughts are energy too. So basically if you're negative all the time or fear sthg etc, you'll atract it, that's why we say that we attract what we fear the most. I really believe in this. I dont believe there's a god or anything but there's a universe and we're all connected and the god is actually yourself, we're all gods in a sense. So for me, people who pray to god, actually pray to the universe and to their inner self. that is my opinion anyway. That's why I'm trying to be as positive as possible and it always served me right. Still being positive doesnt necessarily means making miracles, we can fail sometimes even when we are positive also because other things areinvolved. Also sometimes we think we are positive but we're not. a lot of unconscious things are in our minds every day.. of course when things dont turn ok we tend to not believe in these stuff anymore, we all have ups and downs but that's ok, you can even tap about this " even though I dont believe in anything anymore, I love and accept myself " I really believe everything happens for a reason, even tiny little things, we need to raise our awareness to this cos when we do, se do get the signals and know what we need to do to change the quality of our life. :-) have a nice evening ! ________________________________ From: Myslis <smyslis1@...> candidiasis Sent: Thu, September 9, 2010 3:42:56 AM Subject: letting go I wonder if anyone feels like commenting on their experience with " letting go and letting god. Guest guest
When you understand that everything on a spiritual and scientific level is energy then you can start to understand that you are not seperate from anyone, anything, including God. Therein lies the definition of Universe. When you no longer feel seperated, you can start to bring to you exactly what you desire. People become distracted by statistics... You may think that you want more $$ or a specific job, etc. But if you focus on the feeling that any of those things would give you, then you are empowering the universe to give you exactly what is necessary to allow that feeling. You can't tell God how to deliver your desires, that is automatic. Your job is to envision how wonderful, peaceful, happy, joyful you would feel if you had them. All we have is NOW, yesterday is a story and tomorrow is not real. How do you want to feel NOW??? That is what you control. love and light > > I wonder if anyone feels like commenting on their experience with " letting go > and letting god. " I try to do this but am conflicted. Guest guest
You know what...don't mean to offend you but this board is not a religious forum!...that's entirely up to you what you believe & I wouldn't seek to stop you from your beliefs but PLEASE, you & the person you answered, stop pushing your opinions on others & let's keep to topic on here. I'm more interested in reading & learning other peoples' experiences on how we improve our candida symptoms than listening to diatribes more fit to a Sunday at church! I'm quite sure there are other forums more suitable for that! Thanks! > > > > I wonder if anyone feels like commenting on their experience with " letting go > > and letting god. Guest guest
, So true! I am not sure why anyone would oppose taking an integrated approach to healing. It is impossible to cure (or diminish) any illness unless one looks at the states of Mind, Body and Spirit which enable the disorder. Personally, I know that Candida is an opportunistic organism. During the months of June, July and August I experienced several personal crisis: I lost a very dear friend to death; another friend (more like a sister) had some episodes that I thought were life-threatening. My young adult, grown son started leaning on me for emotional support. So, I just sort of hit a wall emotionally, and I know that the Candida seized the opportunity to affect an already compromised immune system. I have a physician who understands the connections between mind, body and spirit, and so she practices energy healing as well as working with the physical to achieve a decrease in the overall impact of Candida on my immune system. Long story to say: I had to start dissecting my relationships in order to start the journey toward health. I had to look at my fears of death (though, I finally realized it was not death that I feared at all). I also had to learn to create more balance within my body so that energy was more evenly consumed. These are the challenges I work with daily, and I know that I would not have made the progress if I had tried to look at Candida in isolation. Guest guest
, I feared ceasing to exist in the minds of others that I care for, so in many ways, that became a sort of death for me. I figured this one out on my own. :-) Take care, Carolyn > > > > > > > > I wonder if anyone feels like commenting on their experience with " letting > >go > > > > > > > > > > > > and letting god.
