Guest guest
From the " Chemo Brain " file on this list: From what I understand of the article, Depakote induces: programmed cell death (apoptosis) in a similar way to chemotherapy chemicals; causes leukoencephalopathy (changes to deep white matter of the brain), demyelinization (in two separate ways); destruction of tubulin cells in the brain; HDAC inhibition (inhibits the deacetylization of histone proteins in healthy cell nuclei); causes Alzheimer's TypeII astrocytosis (because raised serum ammonia from Depakote causes decreased glial uptake of glutamate, increased glutamine); reduces synthesis of B6/folate; causes excessive levels of homocysteine (as seen in Alzheimers and autism- i.e., disrupts methylation). The study is of a boy who regressed into " autistic-like behaviors " after age 7 from Depakote (valproic acid or VPA). Most or all of the above can be found in association with autism and/or mercury/thimerosal in many studies. I suspect that somewhere in the overlap is a key to proving mercury's potential role in the epidemic. > > > > What about all those of who never took Depakote in pregnancy, or at > any other time?
