Guest guest
Army, I am on atenolol. It is a beta-blocker. It lowers your bp and slows down your heart, so if you have a slow heart rate already you may not want it. Mark
Guest guest
I take Diovan, mostly for the lack of side effects. Prior to Diovan it was hard to decide which side effects were tolerable, and I bounced through a lot of them. The down side of Diovan is that it's not available as a generic yet. Guest guest
I take 60 mg. propanolol (generic inderal). It's a low dose, but I had no problems when I was on higher doses, either.
Guest guest
Hi Geri, My BP is normal, but I do have Diabetes. I tried Glucophage but it made me nauseous, which is a common side effect. Then I went on Avandia for a year until studies showed that it could cause heart problems. That was in 2006. I discussed it with my MD and we decided that I would try to control my blood sugar with diet & exercise. Not so easy for a couch potato with an addiction to sugar! Still, I managed to lose 65 lbs over the next 10 mos and that brought my sugars down to the " normal " range with A1Cs at 5.3 for the last year or so. I have kept off that weight, but could stand to lose another 60-100 lbs. I want to be able to move better and be healthier in general. Still not easy for a couch potato with a sweet tooth, but I'll get there. > > What kinds of Blood Pressure medications agree with those of you who have CMT? > > What do you take if you have diabetes? > > Went to MDA and doc said I have CMT and high blood pressure. > > I have a terrible time with tolerance. > > Thanks > Geri > >

Guest guest
Hi Bee, Thank you for your reply. What if this person does not follow the program perfectly. Would it be dangerous for them in any way to stop their blood pressure medications. Thank you, kelly ________________________________ From: Bee <beeisbuzzing2003@...> Sent: Fri, December 10, 2010 11:16:35 AM Subject: [ ] Re: blood pressure medications  > > Hi Bee, > > Must a person who is in the process of getting on the program gradually come >off of their blood pressure medications, or can they stop taking them >immediately. +++Hi , While they are getting on the program they should gradually lower their meds. When they are completely on the program they shouldn't be taking any, unless they aren't taking 1 1/2 teaspoons of ocean sea salt consistently every day. Guest guest
Group, Just a fast note getting some advice from you. I'm having trouble with meds.... Blood Presser meds. Instead of lowering my blood presser some meds are making me run very high. The doc don't know what to do with me one doc waiting for another, therefore nothing getting done. I have resorted to Cinnamon and going to start on Q10. For those that have high blood pressure..... what do you tolerate? I sure have trouble with finding doctors that deal with internal med.Two have moved and the one I have now acts like he dont know what to do, or perhaps dont care? Do you think I would have any luck with a neorealist for a primary doctor? So touchy with meds I dont know what to do.......already had Con. Hart Failure about nine mo. ago, dont want to go through that again. Thanks Geri in Minnesota

Guest guest
Geri, I use hawthorn berry extract. It works if I'm not eating processed foods or any foods with gmo's and msg's. I mostly eat whole organic foods. I buy organic grass fed meat and barely brown it so we're getting more nutrients. The only grains I eat are oatmeal, chia seed, raw wheat germ, quinoa, and brown rice occassionally.I eat organic free range eggs every day. Another good food to eat is organic raw cheese from grass fed animals. I also use 1/4 tsp of himalayan crystal salt to 1 quart of clean water. It has over 80 minerals in it that are missing from the white table salt we get ar our grocery stores. It can actually reduce blood pressure and prevent ostioperosis.
