Guest guest
The letter has run behind again by about 4 votes right now and there is a commentor in attack mode. - Here's his second comment No doctor, shame on you for playing the poor victim card when anyone raises legitimate questions about your " alternative " approach to treating autism. When did the American Board of Medical Specialties start listing a board which would recognize Board Certification in Hyperbaric Medicine? The American College of Hyperbaric Medicine deals with wound care. Is autism a wound? Do you actually treat wounds? Where is the evidence that HBOT is effective for kids with autism? What is the " increasing scientific evidence " that links mercury to autism? It is not enough to merely " believe " that vaccines cause autism - if you want to be taken seriously outside the comments on a Change.org post, you also need data. So far, study after study has found no association between vaccines and autism. Wakefield's associate, Professor O'Leary will reportedly soon retract his 2002 study that purported to replicate Wakefield's disastrous 1998 study that led to a measles outbreak in the UK. If O'Leary does the right thing, he will at last be in good company - at least 23 aquality studies have found no support for Wakefield's hypothesis. As for thimerosal and autism - what is the mechanism? Why are the symptoms of autism so different than the symptoms of mercury poisoning? Why haven't diagnoses fallen among today's 3 to 5 year olds, given that TCVs have been absent from the pediatric schedule since 2002? You have called autism " the greatest neuroimmune disorder in the history of the human race. " Do you have any credible evidence for that claim? Or is it just something you believe? http://www.change.org/ideas/view/bodies_in_rebellion
