Guest guest
http://esciencenews.com/articles/2009/09/10/vaccination.70.percent.us.population\ ..could.control.swine.flu.pandemic This article is also in SciAm.com's email newsletter today, but on their website. The important thing to read here, for some, is if you 80 years old, then likely you are protected from the 1918 epidemic. Even the 1976 swine flu shot may give you protection. Why? Well, apparently 80% of the deaths have been young adults or younger, so they looked into why elderly are not dying, and found they already had antibodies for swine flu. Wonderful news. Read the article to get date ranges and percentages. YMMV. Bad news is, this means a lot of people will not " need " two shots, but only one. A booster they call it. Same thing. So, more shots will be available. They talk about 'booster' shot, but the cyclotoxin (sp?) storm is not mentioned. I'd not get a booster shot. I'm not going to get any shot. I had the flu a month ago, so that must have been swine, so I do not need a shot.
