Guest guest
Interesting, it's amazing how much food comes into discussion. Somebody made me aware of this site, which might be of interest to LDNers? I can't say, I've read it all yet. http://www.dogtorj.com/ See, what you think? The " Answer " I think might be the bit to read. Lucretia > > Here's an article that was posted to the DMSO list recently.
Guest guest
> > > I also have been told I have Lyme and the symptoms are identical to those on the mold list. So, if I cant leave this home..is it pointless to go see him? My experience, observation and strong belief is that it is exceedingly difficult to treat Lyme, viruses or any other pathogens insofar as people are still getting much mold exposure. It seems that the immune system isn't up to it. All those antibiotic treatments are tremendously taxing on the system. Many people cannot tolerate more than even a small amount. Those who proceed often suffer terrible die-off reactions. Those who make any improvements often experience relapses back to where they were. Antivirals seem to be the same. I was not able to tolerate any of that stuff when I was in my moldy house. When I was pursuing moderate avoidance, I was able to tolerate small amounts with a good bit of symptoms. When I've been really clear of mold toxins as a result of extreme avoidance, I've had little problems tolerating regular doses (and have experienced significant benefits). If the mold is what is screwing up the immune system (and fostering a relatively anaerobic environment in which pathogens can easily thrive), this makes perfect sense. I remain perplexed at why people would want to remain in a place that's poisoning them, regardless of what the alternative is....
Guest guest
, This is very interesting about having to get away from the mold before healing from other chronic problems, thank you. Regarding " wanting to stay in a place that's poisoning them " , I think there can be many reasons. In my son's case, he doesn't necessarily believe that mold is poisoning him, he sees this as one more theory, likely to be yet another misdiagnosis as there have been so many, he is attached to our house, it is the only home he has ever known, he is comfortable there, it is the " known " quantity, he has great difficulty traveling due to chronic pain, sleep issues, and digestive problems, so for many reasons he could not just take off and live out of our car... And he doesn't even have to think about the logistics, cost, etc. of finding a safer place, paying for an additional residence, etc... I personally found it very stressful trying to find a place that was likely to be relatively mold safe & also provide certain amenities that would help my son be somewhat in his comfort zone away from home, and I am completely healthy, so I can imagine how difficult it is for someone who is very sick to make a move, either temporary or permanent... And then there are issues like jobs and kids in school, and so on.... Also I don't think I've found the perfect safe place yet either, I will have to go thru this again if the doctor says to not go back to our house (likely scenario), looking for a more permanent place to live. Guest guest
with some conditions it's not just about the mold, for example, with the sinus problems I have the thought of living in the desert with sand up my nose is not a option. somewhere more rocky to me would be better. I also get much sicker in the summer and better in the winter outside anyway, for several reasons a heating system can bother me. to much dust and things flying around in the air in the summer. many in this group have brought up this topic again and again, it seems pretty clear that no one answer fits all and the more organ damage your exposure causes the least likely it is that you will find somewhere that is going to solve all we deal with. > > , > > This is very interesting about having to get away from the mold before > healing from other chronic problems, thank you. > > Regarding " wanting to stay in a place that's poisoning them " , I think > there can be many reasons. Guest guest
This is a good support group for Lyme + co-infections. Lots of parents with kids and the forum is very active... http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi As for whether it is contagious or not... I think so. My son and my dog have similar strands. Both of them neurological, arthritic, and unable to walk because of leg/foot nerve problems. Could they have been bitten by the same tick, maybe... very unlikely since we never saw a tick on my son. I think it is more likely that when my ex-husband did not take care of the dog and the dog had fleas... the fleas bit my son. ~ > > Is there any means of transmission of B. burgdorferi organism other than by > artrhopods?
