Guest guest
, This year is the first year in my 39 years that I am spending Christmas with the family I chose to create and not feel obligated to the one I was born into. I decided after a Thanksgiving fiasco that I was going to limit the amount of stress I place upon myself. A BIG BIG BIG part of this was not doing Christmas Eve at my father's house or going to my hubby's stepmom's today. We are staying home and have invited people to join us. It has taken me this long to break the " control " chain of both my parents. Actually, it happened this past year with RA to make me look at things differently. I love them but I am a grown up and things are going to be on MY terms from now on and if they don't like it, that is their problem, not mine. I am only one person and cannot handle being pulled in a million different directions. I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas. [ ] Merry Christmas I hope everyone is having a better christmas then I. My car broke again last night. The belt that controls the power steering pump came off, while driving to my boyfriends aunts house. So I called my dad last night to get some assistance in getting in fixed. Well when I got there this morning he decided to be impaitiant and start yelling at me. He basically called my boyfriend worthless and all kinds of names, so I decided that I had enough of it and I and my boyfriend left. My mom called me and badgered me all morning to bring the kids over after I got them. Well I had told her that I wasn't getting the kids til 1pm from there dad and she got angry and started yelling at me some more. It was so bad that she made me cry. My kids got her at 1 there dad drove them over here. My boyfriend worked on the car from about 10:30 this morning and finally got it done around 1pm. We all came in and the kids opened all their gifts they were so excited when opening each one. My mom told me on the phone they were leaving at 2 to goto my cousins in PA. I told her at 1:30 there was no way we would make it to her house just me and the kids to open up gifts. She told me that if I didn't show up that she was going to take them back. Well as far as I am concerned let her if she wants to be that much of a witch. the kids shouldn't have to suffer because of my father being the way he is. I have decided for the best interest for my family they do not need to see their grandparents anymore at least their grandfather who is irrational. I appreciated the fact he got me tires but do not appreciate the fact that he wants to yell and scream about how " worthless " my boyfriend is. He shouldn't have acted like this, it was like he was being a child. As for christmas dinner we are going over to my children's father's house for dinner tonight atleast the kids will be in a place where they are loved with out tension. _______________________________________ No viruses found in this outgoing message Scanned by iolo AntiVirus 1.5.3.5 http://www.iolo.com
Guest guest
; I say this with tears in my eyes cause I could have been the one writting this 20 years ago. The key word is dad now. My dad passed away a little over ten years ago. We would have little disputes like that. I miss him so bad. Work it out. Make him work it out. or just don't argue with him. I don't know just don't argue with him. My daughter said stop crying he would have just called you a dummy lol. gentle love and hugs Clora ************************************ From: Massey <renandstimpy3@...> Subject: [ ] Merry Christmas Date: Thursday, December 25, 2008, 3:05 PM I hope everyone is having a better christmas then I. Guest guest
Yes, Doreen! Online shopping is also my friend. It's so convenient. Not only can you get free shipping, but online coupons and, depending where you are and where you buy, no taxes. Guest guest
and group, I would like to thank those for listening to me about my issues. This is a great group and some days I couldn't deal without it. The one thing I love about the group is atleast I know someone is listening to me. I have made many friends here and do not post often because of my busy schedule between kids and work. I hope everyone has a good holiday and brings in the new year pain free. Guest guest
Hi and Merry Christmas.... I'm not a regular in any way shape or form - and have yet to really find out what's causing all my pain, but I wanted to wish you, your kids and boyfriend a Merry Christmas (belated) and pray the New Year will be better all around for you. I can sympathize with your car troubles as I've had my share of those in the past - so I know first hand how frustrating it can be..... As far as the parents go First pray for them - for as Jesus said " they know not what they do.... " Second - Since you are an adult - set down your rules and stick by them It's obvious you're on this board for a reason and you'll need more support later on. I wish I could tell you why parents, siblings and " friends " act the way they do, but if I had those answers I'd be rich....No parent has the right to be angry when their children ask for help. I wish I could offer more to you, but I hope you realize that there are more regulars out here and a few of us readers that will keep you in their prayers.... To the rest of the board....I thank you for your candidness about your pains and afflictions... It's helped me to understand what I'm going through quietly on my end..... Happy New Year to All ________________________________ From: Massey <renandstimpy3@...> Sent: Friday, December 26, 2008 3:25:40 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Merry Christmas and group, I would like to thank those for listening to me about my issues. Guest guest
Merry Christmas to everyone! A few days late, but that's me, lately **rolling eyes**. I just wanted to thank for her never-ending effort in keeping our forum a safe place to vent. I could definitely relate to Chris' " straw on top " analogy. Sometimes the tiniest of grains can be all it takes to send this camel to the ground in a heartbeat. Sometimes our health, family and life in general can be stressful enough as it is, but then add in extended family and a holiday, birthday, and/or anniversary and it can become overwhelming. I appreciate each and every member here. I have learned so much since becoming a member - the biggest of which is that I am not alone. That in itself can be the biggest boost to someone that is feeling downtrodden by illness and life's stuff - just to know we are not alone. My prayer is for everyone in this group - may we all find the peace and strength to get through each and every day. May this upcoming New Year be brighter with new treatments, better health care, more remission and the continued love and compassion that we all have for one another.........Doreen > > : > > I totally agree with you, and Kami.
