Guest guest
I am sorry, it was who wrote the comments about foil and masks. I disagree totally with his logic (see below) on how he can write a response and that it is the readers responsibility to determine if it applies to them, or not. If a response with specific advice is directed at a specific person, with specific past assumptions, maybe it really should be done off group. There are many people who read these posts and think authoratative sounding advice is for everyone. E.g., the comment, " By all means, wear any mask you care too " is very dangerous. Any EHS professional will tell you do not wear any mask if you don't know what you are doing; better to just stay away from the exposure situation. An incorrect mask is more dangerous than no mask because it imparts a false sense of security, safety and protection; the wearer is likely to do something with the wrong 'mask' that they normally wouldn't do; this raises the likelihood of exposure to contaminants that the mask is not designed to keep out. Please, follow professional standards of EHS conduct when making safety and health recommendations. And, make sure you realize many people are your audience, not just one single reader. I am very concerned about people getting hurt by the wrong advice; or reading the wrong piece of advice and thinking it applies to themselves. Sincerely Concerned, Armour, M.S.
