My fiance and I moved into an apartment on Sept 1, 2009. Immediately we got

sick. Flu like symptoms. Shortly thereafter we had a water leak from the

upstairs apartment. It soaked the wall in our laundry room, our bedroom

baseboards, and our carpet in the hall and bedroom. Our landlord's did nothing.

Just fixed the leak upstairs even though our walls were soft and told us to aim

a fan at the carpet until it was dry. I have headaches everyday, we both have

achy muscles and just feel run down. Like we are coming down with something. The

apartment coplex pressure washed our walkways and walls. It leaked into our

apartment. The ceiling by the door is damp and discolored, water ran down our

walls and out the electric sockets! Still nothing was done by management. On Oct

21,2009 according to the SC Landlord Tenant act we presented the office manager

in writing our complaint and gave them 2 weeks to remedie the situation. She

came to our apartment and saw the water damaged areas as well as a dark splotch

that is " bleeding " throught the paint on aour bedroom wall. We did indoor mold

tests. It turned out green, black and white. The apt manager treated us like

idiots and said we don't have mold. She said we got those results because we

live in the south and it is humid. She has however, had the baseboard replaced

in the living room which had black mold all over the back of it! We have

pictures of everything. We have her signature that she has 2 weeks to remedy the

situation. But because she will not admit we have a health issue here they do

not want to let us out of our lease and SC environmental services all refer us

back to the SC landlord tenant act. Any advise of who we can contact? We need to

move now and they need to be reported to someone! Any advise will be greatly

appreciated!

Thank you!
