Guest guest
Goodmorning CLynn ~ Usually it is when you get cut by a rusty metal that you get concerned about getting a tetanus shot. I would go by what your naturopath, and your gut feel says. Just how many cases of tetanus have we had in the US over the last 50 years ? ? ? Love you, sorry you got cut so badly ! Guest guest
Lynn, I had one last year, first time in years, but I made them do just the tetanus, not the dpt they usually have. So if you do one, insisit on just the tetanus. It does come in a shot all by itself. I had no reaction whatsoever. But tetanus can be a devastating illness and it kills. Guest guest
Hi Dede, Oh, it hurt so bad - I about passed out. Then I had to have a nerve block. I was sweating like a little pig due to the pain. Now it is just throbbing but I'll live. Thank you for the advice. I will call her this morning but I am thinking I should just be safe and do the shot. The knife was a straight blade, it had watermellon juice on it but clean other than that. It went really deep though. Thanks be to God that I didn't cut the whole tip off. Love you missy! Guest guest
Hi CLynn, Dede's right...the chances of tetanus are next to nothing and based on what I've learned on the mercury-chelation forums, these vaccines/shots contain heavy metals, viruses and bacteria that are extrememly harmful to those with immune issues. Your body will heal quicker and safer on its own. Guest guest
CLynn,If it was me, I'd get just the Tetnus shot. . . "Organic" can include "natural" fertilizer . . . as in manure. Rogene
Guest guest
Hi Rogene, I made an appt. I wouldn't have been as worried had I not been cutting fruit with an unclean rind. Plus, the watermelon was from another country. Also, by the time I got to the ER last night, part of the laceration had already closed shut and who knows what got in there, it was really deep. They did open it all back up though and irrigated it - I guess I don't want to chance it. Plus, I will be set for another 10 years. Thanks! Guest guest
CLynn,I'm glad to hear you're getting the shot . . . The chances of getting Tetanus is remote, but, should you get it, it would be devastating.Hugs,Rogene
Guest guest
Lynn, I would be damn sure before I got into the office that they have just tetanus and not the dpt only. I had to insisit on it. Guest guest
Lynda, Uh oh, they only had dpt or the tdt (w/ pertussis) so I went w/ the dpt! Darn it! It is done now, it is already in me. Sorry I missed your post before I went. Guest guest
, CMT symptoms can come on fast. After reading your last post, I'd suggest getting the tap and I am also wondering if you have seen a spine orthopedist, because I am thinking maybe your spine nerves at some levels are acting up (or being squished) telling the muscles to twitch like crazy, and that would affect other areas. Have you had an MRI, ultrasound, or other scans of specific muscle/nerve areas? It seems to me that if you have inflammation that would have shown up in your blood work. Guest guest
Gretchen, I appreciate your reply so much. I was unsure about whether or not I should get the spinal tap. I was leaning toward doing it, but worried I was just in denial about my disease. I really respect your opinion and this makes me feel much better about going forward with the test. > > , > > CMT symptoms can come on fast.
