Effective anesthesia for dental procedures on CMT patients

I've been having some trouble lately with my dentist in regards to anesthesia.

Lately after

he's given me one or two injections of novacaine, I still do achieve any

numbness of the

tooth or immediate area he's attempting to work on. Several times he's had to

give me 4 or

more injections to achieve some form of numbness. I've mentioned to him that I

have CMT

and believe that he probably should perform a nerve block or other procedure in

order to

numb my teeth properly. Is there any information available on this topic? I'm

due to see

him tomorrow again, and I'd love to be able to provide him with some literature

that pertains

to the proper techniques, medications, etc., that should be used to adequately

numb me

before he starts drilling again. Up until now, I've dealt with the pain and

discomfort, but am

also paying a huge price for the number of novacaine injections he's performing.

Is there any

information available on this topic? I'd sincerely appreciate any help that

might be available.

Mark
