Hi Lance,

I was taking 2 teaspoons of Carlson's a day with meals, and when I

took VitD3 it was in tablets-1000-2000iu's a day (with little results).

So the fish oil is certainly better absorbed!

Hi,

My new GP tested my vit d and B12 levels and they were both low. He started me

on vit B12 sublingual, I had actually taken that for years but stopped taking it

when I began to feel better. He told me to take 1000 units of d- I was still low

so he retested. I am currently taking 5000 units of Vit D- not sure where it is

going but I seem to need it to get my level to a " normal " level. The aspergillus

group from the UK is currently asking members about their vit d levels- there

seems to be a correlation between vit d levels and asthma. My oldest son was

tested and he was low also- he is currently taking 1000 units. He has never been

diagnosed with asthma but mold seems to bother him too.

the new research is saying D3 up to 4,000 to 6,000 iu's     helps with fungi

on lungs and gut

I'm so glad you all are sharing about vitamin D. I've been deficient twice and

it certainly complicates the picture with any chronic illness but I had no idea

about research into its effect on fungi. I think I may be deificient

again--strange or stupid as it sounds, I ran out of drops and forgot to refill.

I am seeing doc tomorrow for another blood test.

Hi

Yes if you are deficient you should take supplements. Doc told me it

affects your immune system.

There's a company that offers vitamin D at a whopping 50,000 units per capsule

to conveniently get deficiencies up to normal fast. They seem like quite nice

folks to deal with: " bio-tech pharmacal " .

Woah...50,000 as a one time thing, right? Any more capsules than that will

likely result in an overdose, which is dangerous...I overdosed when the pharmacy

gave me a daily dose of 16,000 rather than a weekly dose.
