As I'm sitting here with my cuppa Joe, I don't wanna think too hard about

this...

[ ] coffee enemas

Dear whoever-wrote-about-coffee-enemas (sorry, I thought I saved it but

can't find that mail now):

I have not " researched " coffee enemas, but have heard about them and

read about them a bit. I've also done a few. I think Gerson's are

" the experts " on this, as far as I know--- or maybe " the biggest

proponents " would be a better way to say it?

While I have no idea about the compnents of coffee that Andy was

talking about that are present when coffee is ingested, I do know

that among proponents of coffee enemas, it is FOR SURE thought to

be very different to use coffee in an enema vs. drinink it!

Also different than a plain water enema--- I believe the effect

is on the liver being stimulated in a specific way. I've also

heard that Gerson's feels it is important to drink a specific

amount of fresh veggie juice for each coffee enema, in order to

keep minerals in balance.

best wishes,

Moria

It's obvious we 'new' folk to the list are hoping that experienced people

can give us a lot of good information.

I 'understand' that the coffee enemas are used to help de-toxify the body

and some claim that how can we expect healing while the body is loaded down

with all of the supposed poisons?

I cannot verify this and am beginning to try to learn more about them

because as I've said before, and it isn't originally mine, we must do all

we can to overcome this scourge. If it takes coffee enemas

too............I'll do it. If I can make smoothies out of Wheat Grass,

Asparagus, Celery and a Carrot, I can do coffee!

As for info? We need all we can get and need some people that have gone to

a clinic out of the country or even one here and can share with us their

experience.

Thank you Ethel!!! Always good to review.....Debbie

rheumatic Coffee Enemas

Debbie Gibson has requested I post the instructions for coffee enemas.

There are any number of places on the net where you can get such

instructions. The one I have used is from Sherry Rodgers, M.D.'s book

" Wellness Against All Odds " . It can also be found in her book " Detoxify or

Die " .

COFFEE ENEMAS - to detoxify the liver. You will need the following

materials -

1. An enema bag, preferably one of clear plastic that you can see through

2. A special soft French catheter to fit over the hard plastic tip of the

enema bag.

If you do get this extra catheter tip, be sure to cut off the bottom two

inches of the enema bag's hard, plastic tip with scissors before attaching

the soft red rubber catheter tip. Otherwise the soft catheter will cover

only the end hole at the very tip, and coffee will run out the second hole

that is on the side just above the tip.

3. A large stainless steel cooking pot.

4. Organic coffee or Folgers (red can) fully caffeinated, drip grind

coffee.

5. A Pyrex one quart measuring cup with handle and pour spout.

6. Unsulfured molasses, and

7. Chemically less contaminated water; definitely do not use city tap

water. If you must use tap water, boil off the chlorine for 10 minutes.

Procedure for making the enema - Put 1 quart of clean water in a pan and

bring it to a boil. Add 2 flat tablespoons of coffee (or the amount of

coffee prescribed for you). Let it continue to boil for five minutes, then

turn the stove off leaving the pan on the hot burner. Add one tablespoon of

unsulfured molasses.

Allow it to cool down to a very comfortable, tepid temperature. Test with

your finger. It should be the same temperature as a baby's bottle. It is

better to have it too cold than too warm.

Next, carry your pan or pot and the Pyrex measuring cup into the bathroom

and lay on an old towel on the floor. (If your bathroom floor is carpeted,

lay a piece of plastic sheeting under the towel.) If you don't use an old

towel, you will shortly have many old towels since coffee stains

permanently. Use another bunch of towels, if you want, as a pillow and

bring along your Bible (says Dr. Sherry Rodgers) or some other appropriate

reading material. Pour the coffee from the pan into the measuring cup

without getting the coffee grounds in the cup. Put your enema bag in the

sink with the catheter clamp closed.

Next pour the coffee from the measuring cup into the enema bag. Loosen the

clamp to allow the coffee to run out to the end of the catheter tip and

re-clamp the bag when all the air has been removed from the enema tubing.

Use a coat hanger to hang the enema bag at waist level. A door knob or

towel rack is appropriate. Do not hang it high, as on a shower head,

because it will be too forceful. It should flow very gently into the distal

sigmoid colon only. It is not a high enema or colonic. It should only go

into the distal rectum.

Lie down on the floor and gently insert the catheter. If you need

lubrication, food grade vegetable oil such as olive oil would be fine.

Avoid petroleum based jelly or Vaseline. Gently insert the tube into the

rectum a few inches and then release the clamp and let the first ½ of the

quart (2 cups maximum) of coffee flow in. Clamp the tubing off as soon as

there is the slightest amount of discomfort or fullness. Some prefer to

roll to the right side, then the left and then back to the right and then

left again, staying a few minutes on each side, and then lie flat and gently

massage the stomach.

Try to retain the enema for 10 minutes. Sometimes there will be an

immediate urgency to get rid of it and that is fine. It helps to clean the

stool out of the colon so that the next time around you can hold more of the

enema. Never force yourself to retain it if you feel that you can't. When

you have clamped the tubing, remove the catheter tip and void when you have

to. After you have emptied the bowel, proceed with the remaining ½ quart

and likewise hold that for 10 minutes, if able, then void.

The goal is to have two enemas, not exceeding ½ a quart (2 cups) each, that

you are able to hold for 10 minutes each. Usually 2 or 3 times will use up

all of the enema, but that is not your goal. The goal is to hold it for 10

minutes. During that time you will often feel or hear a gurgling or

squirting out of the liquid up under the right ribs. That may be your

gallbladder discharging it's load into the bowel.

When you have finished your session, rinse out the bag and hang it up to

dry. Periodically run boiling water, peroxide or other comparable

anti-microbial material through the empty bag to discourage mold growth when

it is not in use.

If you feel 'wired " or hyper, or have palpitations or irregular heartbeats

after a coffee enema, you should reduce the amount of coffee - usually by

half - for a few days or weeks. Or consider that you really need organic

coffee.

Usually you will hear or feel a squirting out and emptying of the bile duct.

This occurs under the right rib cage, or sometimes more closely to the

midline. If you hear or feel the release of the liver on the first or

second enema, 2 is all you need. You can save the rest for the next time.

If after a week you have never heard or felt the gall bladder release, you

should consider making the coffee stronger, going up by ½ TBS increments per

quart, not exceeding 2 TBS per cup. Or you may need a slightly larger

volume, such as 3 cups at a time. Sometimes 3 enemas (2 cups or less)

rather than two at a session are more beneficial.

Always discontinue the enemas if there is any adverse reaction whatsoever

and discuss it with your doctor.

According to Dr. , people with serious toxic conditions such as

end-stage cancer often need 6 to 10 coffee enemas a day, but the higher the

frequency, the closer should be the medical supervision - especially of

nutrient levels.

TIP: Rinse stained towels in washing machine immediately and then soak in

hot water and Oxy-Clean for several hours. Wash in hot water.

Hello, Ethel

I have a question. You mentioned that its important to feel the gall

bladder empty. I dont have a gall bladder, what should i look for

instead of that feeling? What does the coffee do to the liver without a

gall bladder. Thanks, Belinda

Belinda,

Not having a gallbladder just means you only have the liver to worry about.

Hi Sandy

I also do the coffee enemas for cleansing and for pain relief. I

get organic coffee at Trader Joes and use their coffee grinder.

Many supermarkets also have organic coffee. Just make sure it's

organic, or you will be getting a big dose of chemicals.

I'll send the instructions for the coffee enema, which you can find in our files section: NOTE: It is a good idea to start with a warm water enema first, to remove the wastes present and ready to be eliminated. Then follow with the coffee enema for full benefit. BASIC DIRECTIONS (1) Boil 1 quart/1 liter water, with 3 rounded tablespoons of freshly ground coffee in non-metal pan (I use glass)over med heat. Use only filtered, purified or distilled water, not tap water. Do not use a coffee maker. Use only organically grown, non-decaffeinated coffee beans. Store coffee beans in the freezer to retain freshness. (2) Allow coffee to boil for 5-15 min, to evaporate the oils. (3) Let cool to body temp. (4) Strain, using a fine-mesh stainless steel tea strainer(it looks like screen wire) to strain out the grounds, leaving the "silt". Since many of the beneficial elements for detoxification in

the coffee are fiber-bound, it isn't a good idea to use a paper strainer, or even a cloth, unless it's got a fairly coarse weave. (5) Filtered water may be added back to make one full quart. Using an enema bag, insert coffee mixture into rectum. Lie on your right side for 15 min with knees toward your chest, breathing deeply. (6) Evacuate bowels. Additional comments on the coffee enema: "Gerson knew that the coffee enema dilated the bile ducts and caused a flushing of toxic bile from the liver. (Drinking coffee constricts the bile ducts). He also knew that this was the most effective method for detoxification. Since Gerson's time various active ingredients in coffee have been identified and most interestingly, the palmitates present in coffee increase the binding of toxic elements by the bile 7-fold and this enzyme-enhancing ability in the liver and small intestine does not allow reabsorption of the toxic bile. Most cholerectic

herbs do not ensure this complete removal of toxins but only an increase in bile flow. In order to assist detoxification I often recommend the coffee enema. They guard against a toxic build-up that can make you feel so dreadful and in this way help the body to heal. It is important to remember that the coffee enemas go hand-in-hand with the juices: no enemas - no juices and no juices - no enemas. The juices will remove toxicity from the tissues and the coffee enema ensures its removal to the outside. If used without the juices they will ultimately have a depleting effect on nutrients. The rule of thumb is - 3 juices (3 x 250mls) per coffee enema. If you increase the juices then you can safely increase the enemas." From "Detoxing and the Flagging Liver(part 2 of 3)by (From Gerson Healing Newsletter Vol. 15, No. 3, May-June, 2000) http://www.gerson.org/healing/articles/nl_detoxingliver.htm QUESTION: How does coffee taken

orally differ from taking it as a rectal enema? ANSWER: Coffee taken by mouth is a vasoconstrictor causing capillary and bile duct constriction. Drinking coffee is damaging to the stomach due to the aromatic fatty acids (which are not absorbed through the colon since the aromatics are boiled off in the "coffee enema recipe" preparation). Drinking coffee is an artificial stimulant and appetite suppressant as well as creating a more acidic environment in the body which is counter productive to healing. When taking the coffee enema, the caffeine and other components act to relax and open the bile ducts releasing toxins (as much as seven times the normal rate) from the liver. The glutathione-S transferase system is activated as well to enhance the functions of the immune system. Simply put, one is health giving and on is not. Choose the "coffee break" that is cleansing and supportive. Thousands of people have found this to be true. The coffee

enema is also an excellent method for pain relief that is caused by toxic build up in the liver and colon. Remember, Dr. Gerson first developed his Therapy to cure his migraine headaches. However, a word of caution: any more than one coffee enema a day should be taken with sufficient juices and supplements to maintain a healthy balance in the body. Dr. Gerson spent many years developing a safe and effective therapy that requires some attention and study by the users. Still have questions? Check out the Common Questions section of the Gerson Institute website: http://www.gerson.org/g_therapy/faq.asp Sandy Verticelli <dusty.com@...> wrote: I already have the enema bag, but I don't understand the formula for the coffee or where you can purchase organic coffee. I hate it when these things run on and on! Maybe this will make it show up better, (see below) so check the files if it does not. It's under Healing Therapies in the files section. PattyTricia Trish <glory2glory1401@...> wrote: From: Tricia Trish <glory2glory1401@...>Date: Wed, 13 Sep 2006 17:26:30 -0700 (PDT)Subject: Re: Coffee Enemas I'll send the instructions for the coffee enema, which you

can find in our files section: NOTE: It is a good idea to start with a warm water enema first, to remove the wastes present and ready to be eliminated. Since many of the beneficial elements for detoxification in the coffee are fiber-bound, it isn't a good idea to use a

paper strainer, or even a cloth, unless it's got a fairly coarse weave. Most cholerectic herbs do not ensure this complete removal of toxins but only

an increase in bile flow. 15, No. 3, May-June, 2000) http://www.gerson.org/healing/articles/nl_detoxingliver.htm QUESTION: How does coffee taken orally differ from taking it as a

rectal enema? The coffee enema is also an

excellent method for pain relief that is caused by toxic build up in the liver and colon. Check out the Common Questions section of the Gerson Institute website: http://www.gerson.org/g_therapy/faq.asp Sandy Verticelli <dusty.comcomcast (DOT) net> wrote: I already have the enema bag, but I don't understand the formula for the coffee or where you can purchase organic coffee. Is there a place on the internet where I can get information. Do you use fresh ground coffee? Can you buy the coffee already prepared without the enema kit, like i said before I already have the enema bag. Do you have to prepare it yourself? Do you need a coffee grinder, because I don't have one. I wish to purchase the coffee already prepared for the enema. PH,

Thanks I needed to hear that about following the Gerson diet to a T. I ate meat but since eating all vegetables I have a hard time now digesting again. I think I am going to stay on meat. My doctor said no carbs or sugar. I will try that again. I think its all my thyroid and fibro just recently now. I think once I get thyroid I will start water fasting.

Thanks for helpful hints in detoxing mercury. I wonder who you can go to , to see if your levels are going down? UM?

How is your juicing and enemas coming..................are they releasing any footballs yet? LOL

I know I am definitely with the enemas. These give me so much energy. Sounds awful to say but I like doing them now. heeheheee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ph,

I think I am going to start doing them coffee enemas twice a day also. My stomach is still swollen. But this could be my thyroid also. I am not going to worry just wait on the dr. feb 27th. I should have made him give me thethyroid meds.

Most of my drunkness is gone only comes back every now and then. That was the most thing I hated too was my brain fog. Mercola is that your doctor or is that a place you mail in for your updates?

Hang in there the chelation was awful for me too but it gets better with detox methods mostly. They say when you feel drunk while detoxing that its the bad stuff coming out. It was good going in but awful when it comes out ..........u figure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hummmm!!!!!!!!

Keep up the good work.

Hi , On the Gerson therapy, clients skip the meat for 6 weeks, and then they can add in some. I was a vegetarian for a period of time, but it didn't really fit my healing needs. I found that meat was important to my healing. The Gerson therapy is a very intensive therapy. I ordered the supplements and took them but my brain fog was so bad on this therapy that I had to quit. I am not sure if you are following it completely, as in doing the green juices and the foods, so I am not sure what to tell you about your routine. The book should outline it well enough for you to follow it. But I think it's important to take the NAC while you are doing the coffee enemas. (That's not in the book.) I had a rough day...thanks for the kind thoughts. I was up working until 1:30 AM last night in my

office and today I was so tired I wanted to collapse while driving my car with the kids. I'm still finishing payroll tonight, but I did catch a nap at 7 PM. You are so right...I need to take better care of my adrenals. I have to make it a RULE in my life that I do not stay up past 10 PM!!! Those late nights will kill me, literally! Hugs and kisses back to all of you sweet ladies. Patty Patty and/or girlsI would reading the book and it says not to eat meat when doing thecoffeeenemas for 6 weeks. Did you do this? I supply also vitamins andpotassium andNAC with coffee enemas. Am I doing this right? I think the bookconfused memore and the doctor at the same time. Thanks for sorting this

Hi Cooky,

Is this the email you were looking for? Regards, El

rheumatic Coffee Enemas

Hello Ethel,

I copied the coffee enema so I can print it out. Right now I can't do that for

the simple fact is I can't get of the floor once I am down. I have to have some

one pick me up after I am done with the enema. I will work on my exercises to

get strong enough to do that and then do the enema.

Thank you, take care.

towel, you will shortly have many old towels since coffee stains

permanently.

Hi Eva,

I had that problem too years ago when I first did the enemas so I had my

husband make me a board I could place between two chairs. It was about 20 "

by 5 feet. He made it out of scrap 1/4 inch plywood laid on flat 2 x 4's, 5

ft. long - one on each side and at each end. Then he put plywood (8 " x 20 " )

on the bottom side at each end to protect the chairs. The board was first

covered with a piece of thick (scrap) carpet for softness, and then covered

with 6 mil plastic. That way I just sat down on the board and someone

pulled me up as necessary. I had saved my mother-in-law's commode so placed

that beside the board. It worked great.

I'm happy to report I can get down on the floor and up again without any

help.

rheumatic Coffee Enemas

Sandi,

Coffee enemas have never made sense to me, but it is not necessary

for everything to always make sense. I have listened to hundreds of

people tell me how much coffee enemas have benefited them. Many have

told me that they could not get through the day without one or

two. Now common sense says that doing an enema is not the most

convenient activity for these people so there truly must be something

to it. No one has ever told me that there was a downside to this

procedure. One of the things that I like most about it is that it

involves the patient in their own care. When program participants

come to our retreat center I often give them an enema bag and tell

them to make their colon their friend.

Yesterday as I started the seminars one participant complained of a

headache. I wouldn't begin until her headache was gone -- the

material is just too important. I suggested a trip across the street

to Starbucks. It worked in no time at all. Caffeine is a more

potent antioxidant than vitamin C and it can be great medicine, but

like any medicine it can be abused.

What strikes me about the Gersons treatment for cancer that I think would be

helpful are the 13 glasses of fresh-squeezed juice a day.

?

How could it not help to bathe a child -- or an adult -- internally with all

that living nutrition?

?

Ross Horne writes great books on health, and I just found an inexpensive copy of

Improving On Pritikin that is chock full of good information and sure to spark

some interesting ideas.

?

His books are available free, online at I think it's called Soil and Health.com

(without the spaces, something like that.? Lots of interesting free books, there

with the authors' permissions.

Coffee enema's have been coming up all over the groups I am on. Ironically in

the last 2 days. Everyone swears by them! I've never done an enema in my life

but I am going to order the supplies. Use organic coffee.

There is a method called The Gorshan Method (some guy named Gorsham). You can

do a google search. I guess there is also a documentary either about or that

includes The Gorshan Method. It's called The Beautiful Truth. I'm going to

reserve it on Netflix.
