Apartment Hunting

As many of you know I've been looking for an apartment, I have found a couple of

perspective places but am afraid to sign on the bottom line because of the

possibility there could be mold hidden some where. There was a hotel that I

lived in from January to May without any problems but they raised the rent by

$100 so thats a no go.

For those of you who successfully managed to find someplace safe to live how

exactly did you go about doing it, what did you look for before you committed

yourself to that specific property?
