Guest guest
Thank you Rashelle and Tami for your thoughts on my Dad. I truely appreciate it. As for the bee pollen/royal jelly; I do not know what brand my friend is asking about. A co-worker of hers has been taking something with these 2 ingredients and has dropped a significant amount of weight. I'll try to get in touch with her over the next week and see what the brand is. Of course, everyone (me included in the past) wants a quick fix to weight problems. thanks again! Guest guest
Hi Wanda, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. My heart goes out to both of you. I know how difficult it is to deal with a parents' illness and it takes a great deal out of you. I hope you know we are all here for you. As for the two products you asked about. I did extensive studies on Royal Jelly when I trained with a cosmetic chemist many years ago. The possibilities are pretty remarkable. Royal Jelly is the food that is fed to the chosen bee to make her the queen. She is not born, she is made by feeding her a substance called Royal Jelly. Some of the results are that she outlives the other bees by several times, she is larger and is able to reproduce. Royal Jelly has been used for healing severe burns and has been used to give energy. I have not heard of studies done for weight loss, but knowing some of the other benefits, it is certainly a possibility. I have taken it before, many years ago, but it has been a long time ago. I know that Bee Pollen has been used by many with good results, but I was allergic to it and did not like the way it made me feel. I have heard of others who have allergic reactions. My guess is that there would be some information on the web about both products. Do you have a specific one in mind. I would be happy to check into it for you, if you want to direct me to the particular brand you are looking at. In the Health community it is not difficult for me to check this kind of thing out for legitimacy and I would be happy to do it for you. Dear , Yes, it could be timing if it has <A HREF= " http://thyroid.about.com/library/weekly/aa092101a.htm " >calcium</A> in it. Calcium needs to be taken away from thyroid meds by at least two hours. Or, it could be you're allergic to something in the multi. I have often had this problem. When I switched to an iron and iodine free multi, I've done much better and I even feel good taking it. No more exhaustion. No more tiredness. Read the fine print on your multi-vitamin to see what the other ingredients are in it. Does it declare it is free of soy? If not, it likely has it in there and soy is a major goitrogen. Also make sure there are no powdered goitrogens in it like powdered broccoli, spinach, kale, etc. You might be getting too much iodine so consider trying a muliple w/o it. Twinlab (Allergy One A Day) and Nature's Life (One Daily Multiple) are the only companies I've found offering an iodine and/or iron free multi. Good luck,
Guest guest
, There is probably a goitrogenic ingredient in the vitamin you're taking. I would try another vitamin supplement, but only after you've checked all the ingredients to make sure there are no goitrogens in it. Guest guest
Yes, I totally agree with Celeste. I just recently took a liquid vitamin, Total Body, and it only took me 3 days to realize something was in this stuff that my body didn't agree with. I quit taking it and I started to feel well. I am TOTALLY A LABEL READER and would not take anything that would make me feel bad but something was in this stuff and my body didn't like it. You should take a multi, you just have to find the right one! P. > > I was taking a very good quality multi vitamin. Guest guest
I had posted a similar question recently myself about multi's. This seems to be a big topic with hypothyroid sufferers. Just to let those of you know who helped me out, I decided to go with the " expensive " vitamins. I got a 3 month supply and it works out to $66/month. Let me tell you though, THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTING FOR QUALITY. I love these things, I feel SO much better on these things. I've got energy and haven't been down/tired on them either. Anyway, just wanted to let you know. P. > > > I was taking a very good quality multi vitamin. Guest guest
> What vitamins are the " expensive " ones? Is there a big > difference from one brand to the next if you are > reading labels? Let me know. Jenn I wouldn't recommend anything sold in drugstores or, these days, gas stations!. Go to a quality health food store and buy products that are hypo-allergic. But quality vitamins are expensive. I've been using Thorne vitamins (http://www.thorne.com) which have been good. I've also had great success with UltraBalance (http://www.ultrabalance.com) -a powdered vitamin. I've always felt energetic and alive after using this product - however, it's expensive and I can't always afford it (such as now...). Both these have small amounts of iodine - but I haven't found that to be a problem. (I'm really not into product endorsement - however, these are what I have used). Guest guest
Some from another list mentioned citrate in vitamins is made from corn. Corn can aggravate yeast & especially mold patients. Does anyone know about it? Do most use magnesium & wha form & brands? Thanks, Kathy
Guest guest
I take cheap magnesium supplements from Walgreens and can really tell they work. 500 mg relaxes my muscles and knocks me out so I can sleep. If I don't take the mags and only take my sleep medicine, I can tell a difference--the transition into sleep isn't as fast or as restful. However, epsoms salts in the bath are great if I'm having a particular muscle strain, which is often. Guest guest
Okay, so flakes are different than Epsom salts? I will have to try this. Kathy, for overall muscle relaxant and sleep, I buy Nature's Made from Walgreens, which I think is citrate. I used to take an expensive malate form but honestly, it didn't work as well, though I agree that it is supposed to be the best. She has been siezure free for 3 years and always had them since being a child , she uses ancient minerals bath flakes. It comes in bath flakes, trasdermal oil , I used it for My simba when he became paralized too. After bathes with baking soda and epson salts. Simba is walking again. Guest guest
I would check out www.needs.com. They sell the higher grade vitamins and supplements that usually you can only get from docs. They are often the purest forms of supplements w//o soy, wheat, presveratives, etc But check each brand and form for particulars. I always try to confirm by contacting the company directly. My doc says that magnesium aspartate is good for giving energy and magnesium malate is to be used to help you relax. I've used both thorne, metabolic maintenance and integrative therapeutics for the above. There are other good companies like Pure, Vital Nutirents, etc, that have magnesium in other forms. I never heard about citrate being from corn, but would check that out per company. If you call them directly they are usually very helpful. I find ones that aren't are worth not using. Sam Some from another list mentioned citrate in vitamins is made from corn. Guest guest
Really? What kind of benefits are you looking for from magnesium? I use it to stay regular and without it I cannot eliminate easily. I have always had an IBS problem that is worse now with the MCS. But what are you thinking about when you use magnesium? Is there another benefit? Please let me know, thanks, Surella > > Magnesium taken orally does little to nothing. Guest guest
I'm looking to relax from with it. It's precurser to GABA. For some reason I get the best results w Mag Glycinate. I have burning pain in tissues from some vitamins. It's a sensory type feeling. I took 1/2 of B complex yesterday & the burning was 100% worse. A little mag glycinate was the only thing that helped it slow down. Gycinate is an anti-spasmodic. Other lists warn that glycinate can cause ammonia. Can you check ammonia in bloodwork or urine? Wonder if it's sensory MS. When I sit anywhere or lay in bed the muscle pressure, burning gets worse. If i lean back it's frightening now. The pressure goes over the collar bone, breastbone & inside where legs connect. I can't use a pillow between my knees to help my back anymore.  When sit sensory pressure from to head to toes. I can't wear a bra, have to wear loose clothes, have to hold the seatbelt away. We thought it was shingles, if it was I have residual nerve pain. I can hardly sleep. I was improving w chiro. using applied kin. Mine moved, found one I can't afford, trying to find another. It started slowing in the WTB but keeps getting worse. If I don't figure out how to help it I don't know what I'm going to do. I've never heard of anything like this.  If anyone has let me know what you did. Guest guest
I am sending you links to the benefits of magnesium. I just made a connection recently. I had IBS as well. I got it when I came back to the states. I ate I had realized later no processed foods, for the most part organic. I had bad IBS, when I got ill and had to change to organic my IBS suddenly disappeared. I just now made the connection in analizing the past. http://magnesiumforlife.com/product-information/why-magnesium-chloride/ http://magnesiumforlife.com/transdermal-magnesium/magnesium-the-lamp-of-life/ Magnesium in general is essential for the survival of our cells but takes on further importance in the age of toxicity where our bodies are being bombarded on a daily basis with heavy metals. Glutathione requires magnesium for its synthesis.[1] Glutathione synthetase requires ?-glutamyl cysteine, glycine, ATP, and magnesium ions to form glutathione. [2] In magnesium deficiency, the enzyme y-glutamyl transpeptidase is lowered. [3] According to Dr. Blaylock, low magnesium is associated with dramatic increases in free radical generation as well as glutathione depletion and this is vital since glutathione is one of the few antioxidant molecules known to neutralize mercury. [4] Without the cleaning and chelating work of glutathione (magnesium) cells begin to decay as cellular filth and heavy metals accumulates; excellent environments to attract deadly infection and/or cancer. http://magnesiumforlife.com/transdermal-magnesium/magnesium-and-cell-survival-gl\ utathione/ God Bless !! dragonflymcs Mayleen

Guest guest
Yes the flakes are different than epson salts and I just poted the info on one of the answers. http://magnesiumforlife.com/transdermal-magnesium/magnesium-and-cell-survival-gl\ utathione/ Much more info on magnesium for life. Also the purity of the magnesium is essential especially if you have MCS. You do not need some that maybe contaminated with heavy metals etc. Magnesium chloride has a dramatic effect on cell life and is vastly safer to use than aspirin. Why is magnesium chloride so effective in so many medical situations? “Magnesium is necessary for the normal function of over 300 enzyme systems, for muscle relaxation, immune function, cardiac function, clotting, nerve conduction etc. Indeed I cannot think of a bodily department in which magnesium is not essential. It prevents heart disease, cancer, blood pressure, kidney stones and improves energy, sleep etc.†reports Dr. Sara Myhill.   http://magnesiumforlife.com/product-information/magnesium-chloride-product-ana\ lysis/ God Bless !! dragonflymcs Mayleen ________________________________ From: Advocate_Now <advocate_now@...> " " < > Sent: Mon, August 23, 2010 12:14:46 AM Subject: Re: [] Re: Vitamin question  Okay, so flakes are different than Epsom salts?
