Atticat blown in insulation for attics

Has anyone looked into Atticat insulation. A dealer mentioned it to me. I have

to insulate attic this spring.

Apparently it is those Pink Panther Owens Corning foam blocks you see at Home

Depot which is put through a shredder and then blown into attics. Surprising to

me it is also fiberglass. I didn't know those pink foam sheets and blocks were

fiberglass but I guess it makes sense that Owens Corning would be making glass

insulation.

I wonder if the fibers get less airborne than other fiberglass insulation. I

would imagine fiberglass is fiberglass, no matter what the source or method of

installating it, but I wish I could find something good for insulation that

didn't have the downsides of all the insulation materials I have seen so far.

I wonder if just putting a wood floor in attic would slow air exchange down

enough to slow heat low in winter and if boards were not sealed, there should be

some air movement so that moisture is not trapped underneath and one could go

without blown in insulation, or how about foam blocks, piled one on top of the

other. Air should be able to leak around where they come together but those

should slow air movement down too. Does anyone have some novel ideas for mold

proof insulation that can't be inhaled like fiberglass particles.

I took vents out of attic and closed it back up as it was originally built in

1938. There is a power vent which I can use in very hot weather in the summer

which I close off for winter.
