Guest guest
People that I know who have moved here (the midwest US) from Asia tend to boil their water, then drink the cooled water and use the boiled water for their tea n such, is this an option for your water ailments? It is for us, especially since I recently bought a new set of stainless steel pots n pans and gifted away all the non-stick coated items. I replaced our teflon cookware for stainless steel utensils - I know it's not much but each bit helps. Anyway now I boil a pot of water for our use throughout the day. Each day I wash the pot and boil up a fresh batch of water. Since you like teas - have you tried Ssanghwa cha tea (Korean tea) or ganmao tuire chongji tea (Chinese tea)? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_tea Both come as instant tea granules and are composed of herbals often used in traditional chinese or korean medicine for detoxing / building the immune system. I've found relief from some problems which I believe are attributed to drinking these teas and avoiding food chemicals as much as possible by eating lower on the food chain and whole foods that my grandparents would have recognized as food. Personally I started with an OMD - an oriental medicine doctor - who used the 6 pulse points (really 18 since there are 3 " depths " at each point) and tongue exam to evaluate which herbs I needed. I found an OMD office visit, exam and herbal consult typically runs about the same as an MD copay and a " prescription " for herbals usually costs about the same as a single generic Rx co-pay from the pharmacy. Guest guest
Jeri, the water here seems to most smell like mold or the clorine is so bad it takes your breath away. I dont fell boiling well cut it, but many places around here often have to boil their water for weeks at a time for one reason or another. I dont think I've tried these tea's, thanks, well look into them. I used distilled water some, also for washing my sinuses, but mostly use the brita filtered pitcher for drinking, tea, ect. yes, I'm a country girl, nothing like fresh garden veggies and home grown meat. to me most foods from the store just lack a lot to be desired, or to much undesired I should say. I've been in town for awhile now, had my own place and garden, tried to get back to the country, bigger garden, but short lived and payed the price a million times over because the house had toxic mold++. > > People that I know who have moved here (the midwest US) from Asia tend to > boil their water, then drink the cooled water and use the boiled water for > their tea n such, is this an option for your water ailments? Guest guest
dr mercola wrote an interesting book about artificial sweeteners, they are neurotoxins and related to pesticides, in fact as I recall one of the artificial sweeteners was discovered, according to dr. mercola's book, when a foreign student in a research lab misunderstood whatever his professor was asking him to do, thought he said " taste it " regarding a pesticide they were working with in the lab, he tasted it, it was extremely sweet, and that was the genesis of a new artificial sweetener. One of the best and simplest things you can do for your diet improvement is to not drink any sodas, corn syrup or artificially sweetened... Next steps to diet improvement are more difficult, but this is a huge and simple step. It amazes me almost every trip to the grocery, even the natural grocery, look around, there is really hardly any real food on the shelves anymore, it is all denatured, processed, packaged in plastic, a horrible horrible state of affairs... sue >If it is any consolation, I have not been able to drink/eat anything >with Aspartame® for about 25 years. Guest guest
Ginloi, yep, I think a little plain sugar is safer than any artificial sweetners.processed corn surup and me dont get along. I never have used sugar in tea's or coffeee, yuk. but I do crave the chocalate. I try to stick with dark chocalate. I brush my teeth with baking soda and after words put a little in some water and drink it, this helps the stomach too. so I try not to drink the diet pepsi unless something gets to my stomach were the pain can get unbearable. I dont tolerate pain as well as I used to, most of that,I believe is because of the nerve damage that is just waiting to spring it's ugly head if it gets a chance. > > If it is any consolation, I have not been able to drink/eat anything with Aspartame® for about 25 years. Guest guest
I wonder if the bile that backs up in my stomach nutralizes the aspartame ? kind of like it obviously neutralizes the normal stomach acid we all have. maybe the difference lies in the environment that the diet pepsi is going into. not the normal ph environment that people without this problem have. not useing diet pepsi is not a option when I haven't found anything better yet. I dont know if anyones really getting just how bad my stomach was tore up. anyone else out there have this problem in a pretty severe way? > > dr mercola wrote an interesting book about artificial sweeteners, they > are neurotoxins and related to pesticides, in fact as I recall one of > the artificial sweeteners was discovered, according to dr. mercola's > book, when a foreign student in a research lab misunderstood whatever > his professor was asking him to do, thought he said " taste it " regarding > a pesticide they were working with in the lab, he tasted it, it was > extremely sweet, and that was the genesis of a new artificial > sweetener. Guest guest
You are right. Plain sugar is better and the new issue with the fake stuff is that it messes your brain into thinking it had something sweet. It is supposed to be implicated in metabolic syndrome and diabetes. The high fructose syrup issue is at the center of controversy as well; as the corn that is being fed to the animals instead of grass. Baking soda is very good for a lot of things. > > Ginloi, yep, I think a little plain sugar is safer than any artificial sweetners.processed corn surup and me dont get along. > I never have used sugar in tea's or coffeee, yuk. > but I do crave the chocalate. Guest guest
Have you ever tried acidophilus? It is one of those active ingredients/nutirents in yogurt which helps restore " balance " of good bacteria in the intestines...It is part of my vitamin/supplement daily program, and it helps calm things down a lot. > > > > I react my stomache my head mythroat my eys > > > > > > In a message dated 1/29/2010 6:43:52 P.M. Guest guest
no, just the yogurt. maybe it would work better alone. the yogurt just didn't help the situation. > > > > and that makes sence, it's a neurotoxin and excitotoxin. > > it also makes sence that I some kind of reaction from breathing in when I was about to take a drink, but obviously somethings happening in my stomach that stops any reaction there except that the acid in it helps calm the reflux and bile that besides getting into other gross details can cause alot of pain. > > > >
Guest guest
We think about sinuses, throat, lungs, etc., but not where a lot of the toxins land; the intestines, and they get badly messed up trying to excrete poison. Acidophilus helps stabilize the gut, especially after a course of antibiotics to kill off a bacteria. It takes, like many chemo treatments, the good and the bad with it. So this supplement puts back some of the " good " to give you the strength to fight off the " bad. " I think of it as " ground zero. " There is a group concerning " candida treatment " and it is on . They have some pretty great postings about bring your body back to a place where it can fight off the stuff that keeps " recycling " the bad stuff. It might help with the gut issues. > > > > > > and that makes sence, it's a neurotoxin and excitotoxin. > > > it also makes sence that I some kind of reaction from breathing in when I was about to take a drink, but obviously somethings happening in my stomach that stops any reaction there except that the acid in it helps calm the reflux and bile that besides getting into other gross details can cause alot of pain. > > > > > > >
Guest guest
I started using agave syrup instead of sugar or Equal-the Equal I gave up a while ago but I really missed the sweetness in my tea so I found a little squeeze of agave works really well and it is very low glycemic and I suppose better than white sugar. > > > > If it is any consolation, I have not been able to drink/eat anything with Aspartame® for about 25 years. Guest guest
yes, but acid reflux and candida id different from bile reflux, I have all the symptoms of bile reflux. my liver hurt bad for along time after exposure. my gallbladder hurts alot if it's pushed on. I get burning to the esophalus, ect. I dont get anything close to the effects of acid reflux. it's a tottally different effect in the stomach. > > > > > > > > and that makes sence, it's a neurotoxin and excitotoxin. > > > > it also makes sence that I some kind of reaction from breathing in when I was about to take a drink, but obviously somethings happening in my stomach that stops any reaction there except that the acid in it helps calm the reflux and bile that besides getting into other gross details can cause alot of pain. > > > > > > > > > > >

Guest guest
eating alot of greens/ruffage helps with the bile, but I'm not a complete vegitarian and dont really wana be. lol's I'm not into supporting the coke industry in any way shape or form. yes, magnesium would help but you have to be careful there. and milk of magnesia makes my problem worse, I was told to take it for the " acid " reflux I was thought to have. than forgetting about ordell I bought it again to try with the CSM to replace sorbitol. WRONG! I think I've deturmined what got my stomach in a resent uproar, I ate a poppyseed muffin, couldn't resist. seeds, not good. and I knew that. ugh. a shot of diet pepsi isn't even helping with this one. neither have to greens. > > Years back I had acid reflux and for me.
