Guest guest
Hope I'm not to late to join in on the Risperdal topic. is 7 yrs old and I just talked to a Mom who said that it did wonders for her 5 yr old dual dx boy. Now, I guess I should take to a psychiatrist. He doesn't have major stims but I'm not sure where his real handicap lies between ADD or auditory processing disorder. Could anyone shed light on what positive improvements they saw with the drug? Thanks,
Guest guest
Hi , Zeb takes a very low dose but risperdal gradually helped to improve his reasoning and problem solving ability. The dr asked me to try to reduce to .50 per day. I tried last month for five days and his behavior was horrible, not listening, throwing his beanies, walking by me and shoving, yelling etc. I can't prove it was that .25 that made the difference but I immediately upped the meds and he has been fine since. It also keeps the behaviors in check. Zeb has gained 60 lbs in the past two years. Charlyne Mom to Zeb 13 DS/OCD/ASD? Guest guest
Please keep us posted on the feeding program at KKI I have thought about this for awhile. Mic eats at school, nothing but pureed stuff he eats only vanila pudding and some yogurt. We tried stage 2 babyfood and hes gagging so much we stopped.Mic has had reflux surgery and we are careful when it comes to gagging it can come undone.Mic has been surviving on pediasure since he was 2 1/2 he just stopped eating.I have heard many good things about the KKI feeding program. I dont know about Risperdol but am wondering about it too. Mic is 6 just last week. Laurie

Guest guest
: Tori started on Risperdal last Sept. and it has done a world of good. She too is a flapper, and a major head banger. It did help her greatly with focusing. Liz-Mom to Tori 6 1/2 Risperdal Hi everyone, My little guy, , age 5 is now an inpatient at Kennedy Krieger Institute for a feeding program. Guest guest
Hey - How hard to be separated from your boy! Hopefully it will be more traumatic for you than him. (I " m nice, eh?) Is Dr. Capone involved at all? It would be good for him to peek in on the situation, if that's allowed, just as a consult for kids who are tougher. Ask about it and see what they say. Many of our kids use Risperdal - and I see there are many replies( which I haven't read yet). Hang in there. Take some long walks. It will help - a little.
