Guest guest
RealTime laboratories has run controls. That is what the Limit of Detection on the report shows. The other problem that you have is the word present for mycotoxins tested. You need to have your doctor contact the lab and have the actual concentrations of each mycotoxin in ppb. The questions you are asking regarding the validation of the testing should be directed to the lab, not the SickBuilding forum. Dr. Hooper has the answers. Again, I wish to point out that you are assuming that the mycotoxins are the only thing that are making you ill. There are many biocontaminants in water damaged buildings as listed below. All of them work in concert. Many Species of molds; many species of gram negative and positive bacteria, VOCs, endotoxins, bacterial exotoxins, 1-3-beta-D glucans, galactamannans, actinomycetes, particles ranging from ultrafine, fine and big. The big ones are the mold spores. The ultrafine and fine are upto 500 times greater in concentration than spore counts. When you say only one of three is sick, what determinations did you do to make this decision? How old is each party and can each person express their illness. Have you had each person checked for lingering nonsymptomatic sinusitis? What method of detox are you suggesting. It takes a long time to detox and includes the use of antifungals. Sharon has clearly stated that she was on antifungals for 2 years. So have others. Jack-Dwayne: Thrasher, Ph.D. Toxicologist/Immunotoxicologist/Fetaltoxicologist www.drthrasher.org toxicologist1@... Guest guest
Jack, thanks for your response. >RealTime laboratories has run controls. That is what the Limit of >Detection on the report shows. Yes, I know they have run controls, I am just wondering how many docs use this test and what their experiences are with the test, is it reliable in clinical practice, I know my son's doctor uses and believes it's a valid test, but before making decisions like moving the other half of my famly out of our house and renting yet another short-term house so my 13 yo can finish out 8th grade where he is(so that would be a 3rd residence to pay for), and basing that decision on these test results, I am just trying to learn more about the test wherever I can, including this group, sorry if you think it is an inappropriate question.. also, I am still curious if others have done this test, undergone treatment and redid the test, what the retest interval was, and what the results were (mycotoxins declined, went up, got different elevated mycotoxin, etc...).... >
