Guest guest
I'm wondering if we should consider having sub-groups for differing areas of concern for our members. I like learning about everything, but some have stated that the sheer volume is overwhelming. Maybe we could resolve this issue with sub-groups under the large SickBuildings Group umbrella that include building remediation/mold removal, alternatives to traditional products/supplies for those exposed to toxins, and innovative, effective health testing/treatment options. These are just a few examples if one broke down the larger topic of SickBuildings and the consequences of this challenge. That way, if someone's focus and target was how to effectively remediate/remove mold or hire an expert to do so, that could be where his or her energies could be directed. Again, I'm basically a technological illiterate (ARGH!) in terms of websites and their organization/set-up and would never suggest that our moderators undertake this additional task; you're already angels for doing the amazing work you already do. I was just wondering if this would address and possibly resolve the concerns about " off-topic " threads that may not, in fact, be off topic if that's your primary focus at whatever stage you are in. Just throwing it out there, especially after the recent posts that included resignation/refusal to read posts that contain information the person had no interest in. I would posit that any number of topics are relevant; the definition depends upon the audience. Right? \ Good thoughts, sally > > Carl and Jack are back because it is in their hearts to help the suffering person.( Just my personal opinion)I respect them even more for coming back. It was a tense time, and I am glad its over and has been resolved favorably. This is the way things should work... there's conflict and then it gets resolved. Conflict is not harmful in and of itself when there is resolution that follows!! > > Thanks to the moderators for doing their part too. Without their considerable efforts.....!!!! > > I am so glad this all worked out for the best. This site can be overwhelming with all the messages. I find it very difficult to keep up. I tried skipping messages, but get concerned I am missing something important. But it's difficult to keep up. Does anyone have a solution that would help?? Perhaps short messages.... Back channeling when possible???? > > Kathi >
Guest guest
I think health issues should be covered here. Ive been a member for six years and sometimes scared to death about what is going on with my body. Kc has checked in with me often and this group was the only support I had as many people including my family did not understand or thought I was nuts. HHealth issues are a part of the mold exposure and I still have them six years later. I sttay in my condo with air cleaners and do not go out execpt to doctors and then I wear a mask. This group has often kept me sane. Thanks for letting me speak. Janet
Guest guest
KC and I have been discussing that already, so we are on the same wave length. > > I'm wondering if we should consider having sub-groups for differing areas of concern for our members. Guest guest
Janet,  Each group has a certain range of subjects. In SB we would not want 99% of the posts to be jokes-- there are groups for jokes if that is what a person wants.  There are groups for MCS, and we can talk about any aspect. Do you belong to any of those?  I am housebound with air cleaners too. Get ill just from the pollution when running errands and going to doctors. I did not know there was a name for this illness until about 2 yrs ago. That's when I joined the MCS groups. It is a real comfort to me to tell them what happened, my symptoms, etc. & get suggestions, and learn from their experiences too.  Who would think using just a tiny bit of 7th Generation dish liquid on a wet rag to wipe down my washer and dryer would give me a headache, burn my eyes, mouth, burn some tissue off my lips, irritate my stomach, irritate my lungs and make me cough for 3 days -- even with my IQ and 3 Austins going. Same symptoms when I used a tiny bit of anti-bacterial soap on a wet rag to wipe the baking soda build up off one of my fiberglass tubs. I am afraid to clean, used to keep a clean house. Can't even use vinegar anymore, just baking soda and water it seems.  ....Corky I think health issues should be covered here. ......... I sttay in my condo with air cleaners and do not go out execpt to doctors and then I wear a mask. ... Janet
Guest guest
You probably would have a very active list just for treatment and health related issues resulting from sick buildings. I would love to go more in depth with treatment. I think there is a clear diff between addressing the health of a building which can involve managing one or leaving one and dealing with onging health issues though there will be some overlap since sick building and sick people go hand in hand. Possibly more awareness oriented and less treatment oriented. Divide too much and thats a problem as well. Or maybe the volume will go down shortly. Guest guest
Janet, I'm behind you also. You are one if my heroes because you stay involved despite your severe Illness and the immoral, obscene treatment you received. How can we not include health? If our health wasn't affected we'd have no harm. No harm no foul. But that is not the case. It is our health being harmed. People call for help. Buildings don't. Guest guest
Barb! Oh, I'm glad that this is being discussed. Again, I don't know how it would be completed technologically, but it is an idea. I send both you and KC much gratitude for your service to all of us who benefit from your hard work. Blessings and appreciation to both of you! sally ________________________________ From: barb b w <barb1283@...> Sent: Sat, August 28, 2010 7:12:04 AM Subject: [] Re: Glad to be back/Solution for numbers of e-mails  KC and I have been discussing that already, so we are on the same wave length. > > I'm wondering if we should consider having sub-groups for differing areas of >concern for our members. >
