Guest guest
Dear All, I am just as angry as the next person about what has happened over this issue and the lives that have been devastated. But, you have to realize that this was not the work of just one or two or even three or four people. It was a collective, conscious choice to promote policy that denied causation of illness. While the means never justify the ends and lives have been destroyed; in the early two thousands this issue was like the Wild West. Everybody and their brother became a mold expert, whether they were an attorney, an IH, a remediator, a physician or a professional witness, etc. So while I certainly do not condone what has occurred over this issue and feel the ethical and moral way to address this issue would have been to quickly get on it and set guidelines that could be used to give physicians and the public accurate and calming information - it makes me REAL NERVOUS and uncomfortable to see it be wished upon anyone that they be intentionally forced to be subjected to pesticides and cheap cleaners with the intent of purposely harming their health. Jail time, maybe for some. But certainly not the willing them physical harm. Fight the issue. Fight the pseuo-science. Fight their conflicts of interest. But in light of what has recently occurred in Arizona, please do not plant the idea to those who may be less stable and even more angry than ourselves, that anyone deserves to be personally harmed because of what has occurred. Meredith, I don't mean to preach of demean your anger and concerns - we just need to be careful that our words to do not cause wrong actions of others. Guest guest
A US Congresswoman was shot while having a meet the public forum outside of a grocery store. A Federal Judge was killed along with five other people, including a child. While there is no evidence of political motivation by a disturbed young man, the concept has been planted by the media that it is politically connected. A + B + C People are angry over many things that have occurred in this country. We want to speak out of the wrongs as is our right and duty; but never help plant the idea among those who may be unstable that physically harming another is a solution to problems in politics and policy in the US. One must be careful of what they write on chat boards. You never know who is reading or what has occurred or what they are willing to do with their anger if the wrong idea is planted in their minds. Fight the issue. Fight the pseudo-science. Fight the conflicts of interest. But be careful to not innocently plant the idea in some poor soul's mind that anyone deserves to be physically harmed over this issue. From speaking out of the deceit, I have had days where I feared for my safety and that of my family's. I would not wish that on my worst enemy. Sharon In a message dated 1/23/2011 5:27:17 P.M.
