Guest guest
, If you have a professional do this it can be very expensive. There is an alternative. Air Test Technologies (www.airtest.com) makes an inexpensive IAQ Monitor (PM2200) for monitoring carbon dioxide, temperature and relative humidity (it's the only instrument of its kind as far as I am aware). They also make the PM 2500, a laser particle counter. You can get both for under $400. Professional Equipment.com sells all sorts of other measuring equipment that you can use for additional monitoring. I would also suggest getting a copy of " My Office is Killing Me! " C. Elevated levels of some parameters would trigger a response from the associated control system in the home. A common example is the monitoring of CO2 and having it control an outdoor air damper... But I'm looking for someone familiar with air, light, and water demand-control systems.... way beyond the average HVAC controls. > > We'll be setting up a living laboratory of sorts and I really need an expert in all-things-controls. > > Does anyone come to mind? > > Thanks, > in SF Bay Area >
Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for the leads. I have the My Home/Office is Killing Me series and I should read them both again for a refresher of all the wonderful details you cover within those pages! This is one of those rare cases where money is not the limiting factor - technology and expertise are. I reviewed the AirTest products and found I already have comparable (or more sophisticated) basic IEQ testing equipment. Perhaps the remote Temp/RH probe will come in handy... but I suspect a more comprehensive all-in-one remote unit will be easier to tie into a whole-house monitoring system. I'm meeting with the folks at Lighthouse Worldwide Solutions (www.golighthouse.com) later this week. They do have some cool meters/detectors at Professional Equipment, but I will not be able to spec and wire a complex IEQ demand/control system by myself. What I really want is to have an IEQ Controls expert on the design team.... any leads in that department? Looking for best-case scenarios here... not concerned about cost.
